Product overview

This 3in1 460mm lawnmower is perfect for keeping your backyard trim and tidy without the hassle of fuel cans, oil and filter changes and chokes. Just charge up the 40V 4.0Ah lithium ion battery and get on with the job.

The 7 position height adjuster lets you easily change between 29mm up to 86mm cutting heights, while the 460mm steel cutting blade mechanism features an impact protection cut-out for safety.

The cutting-edge brushless motor provides more power, longer running time and higher speeds as well as greater efficiency and less noise, while the 50L catcher can handle plenty of clippings.
This high-tech mower even features a built in load sensor to automatically regulate RPM based on load conditions, so you'll always have the right power for the conditions.

If you don’t want to dispose of your clipping it’s easy switching to side discharge or mulching modes, giving you plenty of options when it comes to handling your garden waste.

GreenWorks Brushless DigiPro Series is an innovative solution for your garden tasks that rivals petrol-powered tools. Combined with the 40V G-MAX system, the Brushless DigiPro Series features a powerful brushless motor that improves the battery efficiency, delivers more power for greater performance, produces less noise and vibration, and extends the life of the motor for exceptional durability.

Traditional brushed motors tend to wear down over time, reducing efficiency and power. With a brushless motor, you can expect the same performance as the day you purchased it. The gear reduction design of the brushless motor also delivers greater torque.

Simplify your lawn care by ordering your clean, green and simple GreenWorks DigiPro 40V lawnmower today.

Questions and answers

0 votes
q: How long does the battery last before having to recharge?
a: It's very hard to give a standard run time, as this varies hugely depending on the length and condition of the grass. Longer, thicker grass will take more power to mow (this mower has an auto throttle that senses load), shortening run time. The best thing to do is check out our customer reviews below to see the how they perform on different size sections and grass lengths.

q: Is the body aluminium or steel?
a: This has a steel deck.

q: Please tell me more about the mulching ability of the mower? Are we talking the ability to mulch small branches? And if so, how thick can they be?
a: The mulching function is only intended to mulch grass as you go, enabling you to mow without a catcher and evenly disperses grass to prevent ridge lines.

q: How many cutting blades? Cost of spare battery? Is it self propelled ?
a: It has a single blade, no it's not self-propelled. If you search Greenworks on our site you can see all battery and charger options.

a: Hi, no they aren't.

q: How long do the batteries last? I dont mean the run time but the average life you can expect.
a: It depends on how often you use it really, so charge and discharge cycles. A typical lithium-ion battery will have a lifespan of approx 2000 cycles. These batteries have a 1 year manufacturer warranty.

q: Roughly how long does it take to charge the battery?
a: Approximately 2 hours.

q: How long do these batteries last and what is the cost of a replacement?
a: Run time can vary depending on conditions, but we have awesome feedback on these mowers with customers reporting one battery is more than enough for most regular laws and some requiring two for quite large sections. See our website for pricing on spare batteries and take a look at our reviews!

I've a big lawn and used this mower a few times now. It's doing a great job and I like that the sound level is low. It automatically revs up power when there is more grass underneath which I thought is a cool feature. I only mulch and I like that after I go over a second time it cleans up well. So far I'm really pleased with this lawnmower!

2019-03-22T03:17:27+00:00

A bit hesitant to move away from a petrol mower but pleased I have. A lot lighter to handle and lift over the gutter and steps. Very quiet and the wife can start it and push easily which is a real bonus. A lot of petrol mowers have a cut off lever on the push handle that needs to be engaged when starting and she couldn't hold that in and pull cord at the same time. This one starts so easily. The battery level indicator on my one doesn't work but no major problem, mower still works. I also bought a line trimmer and it is great to use as well. Good Company to deal with, wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

Turning on and off is totally painless. We don’t have a big lawn so only takes half the battery, unless the lawn is super long and it keeps having to power up then it might use more. Best thing is not mucking around with fuel. Had forgotten how obnoxiously loud a petrol mower was until the in-laws mowed theirs at Christmas. This goes like a charm and is very quiet. Only thought is bolts on handle might need adjusting occasionally.

Great value for money. Just recommended it to a family member. They are keen to buy it after seeing ours. The steel body puts this mower on par with petrol mowers. The run time on a charge is about 40min on a dry lawn, but shorter on wet grass. This is a better unit than the another brand that is more expensive.

having purchased the GreenWorks G-Max 40v Lawnmower approximately 6 weeks ago to replace my old petrol mower i have found it to be a very good machine, so far it has done everything i would have expected it to do, i have a very large section being approx 1450 metres with at least 3/4 in lawns this mower has cut all the lawns on one battery without having to recharge and does a great job with and / without the catcher and on wet and dry grass...i would never go back to a petrol and do not miss having to pull the starter or check the oil and buy petrol...the battery charges in approx 2hrs it is a very easy machine to use and is so much lighter than the other mower...just push the button and mow....great

Have used about 4 times now with no problems to do areas not suitable for ride-on. Would give it 5 stars if the minimum cut height was about 5mm lower. Solid (hard) plastic wheels give it a bit of a flimsy feel but expect it to be reasonably durable over long term. Would recommend to anyone with an established small lawn that would take about 1/2 hour to 40 minutes to mow.

Looking to replace my aging petrol mower I explored battery mower options. I had looked at them a few years ago but they were heavy, poor battery performance and expensive. I spent several hours researching brands for performance of battery and cut quality along with weight and width of cut. After narrowing down to 3 brands I decided on Greenworks G-Max 460mm with the 4.0Ah kit. This rapid charger along with the cut width, simple use, quietness of operation and catcher/mulch options made my final decision. From a sceptic to a promoter of battery mowers in a very short time. If you are thinking of a new mower please consider this one. Mowing on Sunday morning is no longer an issue- quiet as a mouse. My next decision is other garden implements of Greenworks as they share the common battery; smart thinking.

I have been very impressed with my purchase of this battery powered lawnmower. It is a lot lighter than a standard petrol mower, and is so easy to start. The only problem i have with it, is that i should of got one a lot sooner. It takes about 2 hours to charge an empty battery, and will give you roughly 45 to 70 mins usage. Obviously this depends on length of grass. Since owning this, i have not even used the catcher once, i simply let it spin out the side. Overall I'm very happy.

Great mower, is so quiet you barely need ear muffs....good for early morning mows that don't annoy your neighbours! We live in the country and have a very large area to mow, so for us we needed an additional battery. For most people the battery it comes with would probably be fine. The side mulch option is great and once you use an electric mower (no pulling cords to start, turns on and off as you need with no fuss) there's no going back! Totally recommended.

It is a great Lawnmower, very strong, and easy to handle. Light and it knows when to use more or less power. Giving 4 stars and I have to charge the battery one time to finish mowing my lawn. ( *it is a big lawn )

Love the electric start. I have a 500m section handles a couple of mows easily on a charge. Lightweight and cuts grass well. It has made lawn mowing that much easier, no hassles with petrol and pulling to start. I also like that it has a much lower noise level.

I have purchased the Greenworks lawnmower 1 month and a bit ago. I have used it a couple of times and I am quite pleased with the result. I only have a small lawn so the battery powered lawnmower works well. Big test coming as spring is around the corner :). I do like how the lawnmower powers up if you get into a thick batch of grass, and powers down when it is not as thick. One trick of new players. remember to push the button then pull the safety bar, and not the other way around. Otherwise it doesn't start and your wife looks at you in annoyance!

Easy mower to use and practical for those like me find it hard to pull start petrol mowers. One push and you’re off.

Purchased this lawnmower because of positive reviews internationally. Certainly happy I did. I can comfortably mow my lawn (700m^2 section)and still have battery charge left. Very quiet and light making it easy to maneuver.

Ticks all the boxes for our section, it’s the first electric mower I have owned and sure is easy to operate and store.

So far so good with this mower. The battery is enough for two separate mows (500sqm section) and it feels like it has a good amount of power. The mulching function is excellent, I can hardly tell I haven't used the catcher after mulching.

Owned for a month or so. First mow was slightly damp and fairly long grass and the G-Max just ate it up. The auto-speed controller kicks in when needed and the whole machine seems hassle free - no petrol or oil or farting about trying to get it to start, easy! The best feature has been the lack of noise, it doesn't frighten our toddler or require him to wear his earmuffs, so he's happy to 'help' with the mowing. The quality of the cut is superb and subsequent maintenance mows haven't taxed the motor at all, just a gentle hum. Managed the whole section on one charge, although we got a second battery for the line trimmer as well - which is also amazing, super powerful. Batteries are fast to charge. The ONLY thing I've noticed is that the wheels are quite hard so the ride is a little jolty but it's nothing a pair of leather gloves can't fix. So far so good on our pretty typical NZ section; fairly gnarly and rambling. While I'm at it, the TradeTested team have been great to deal with. Very happy customer.

Most practical mower for a suburban lawn

Exceptional performance and features for the price. This mower has taken the frustration out of mowing our lawns. It's quiet enough that I can actually enjoy the time outdoors, and I can even hear the neighbour's mower over it. The standard 4.0Ah battery lasts through cutting the berms and our 650sqm section, and leaves a little juice to finish the edges with the line trimmer. Its lightweight, which means I don't work up a sweat when rushing to do the lawns quickly. It also means I can build a deck between the garage and front lawn, and just carry the mower over to the lawn. Storage is easy. No petrol, and the mower can be sat against the wall, without worrying about flooding.

What a dream to start this rechargeable mower. It's quite a bit heavier than my old electric one but I no longer have to drag around a long power cord in order to cut my extensive verges so that's a definite plus. Three different grass discharge options is another great feature. It truly was a happy day when I saw the Trade Tested advertisement and be able to pre-order this wonderful mower.

Way better than I thought it would be. As much power as my old petrol lawnmower and the battery lasts longer than what it takes to mow the lawn. When the mowing gets a bit tough it automatically revs up. No need to use the catcher unless the lawn is over grown, the mulching system works great. It's quiet, no petrol, no oil, no pulling, just press the button and go. Fabulous!

Frustration free lawn mowing!

The GreenWorks lawn mower is so easy to use. With just a press of a button, pull back the lever and away you go. No petrol to worry about, no oil to run out of and no spark plugs to check. The cutting deck is as wide as my old petrol mower and gives a fabulous cut. I have 2 batteries and this allows me to cut all of my lawn in a little over an hour, which is about 10 minutes longer than the petrol version. I used to waste at least 10 minutes trying to start the petrol one or had to get someone to start it for me. This is frustration free lawn mowing for me. I am very happy with my purchase!

I am very happy with the new lawnmower. My husband sharpened the blades for me and I have enjoyed how light, yet sturdy it is. He thinks it lacks a little power, but I have been enjoying the ease with which I can cut the grass and enjoy a manicured lawn. The battery lasts long enough to do our average sized lawn and it is so much lighter and quieter than our old lawnmower.

An excellent mower which copes with my smallish lawn on 1 charge. Has a wonderful array of attachments to cope with users preferences. Being quite elderly I do find it quite heavy to handle but for a normal able person it's a breeze. Recommend as good value for money.

Generally a reliable and effective lawnmower. Battery life seems to be a bit weather-dependent, and sometimes a single battery charge doesn't cover our whole lawn (around 500 sqm), but after recharging there is never a problem. Apart from that, no complaints.

My first new lawnmower in 20+ years of homeownership and I was disappointed. I have used it just the first time yesterday and I am still sad my 18 year old lawnmower has died. Build quality seems OK, feels funny to use, like you are vacuuming the lawn, so quiet. Even on the lowest setting leaves the grass quite long. Noticed it didn't cut that well, can see the long ones it decided not to cut. Found myself going over the same part 2-3 times in some instances. Wouldn't recommend to anyone who gets pride from their lawn looking nice, but if you just want the grass cut, this does do the job.

Good for the price. Doesn't like long/ wet grass or both. Side extraction doesn't work if the grass is wet. I liked that the price of a second battery wasn't too much should I feel I needed one. Good for small to medium lawn.
