I think this battery so be standard when buying items, 4.0ah is ok but you definitely need a 6.0ah one for medium usage.
Unlike my other two 40V Greenworks batteries, this one charged & worked OK, but the battery info LEDs did not light up, so I couldn't see the state of charge - needed to rely on the charger telling me it was OK to use. I also couldn't see how flat it was getting whilst I was using it. Not a biggie, but maybe indicative of quality control at the factory?
Bought this after I had already purchased the 40V lawnmower and weed eater package which came with a 4 AH battery. The 4AH lasted between 20 and 40 minutes depending on how long the lawn was/how hard it has to work. As my lawn takes about an hour and ten to mow the 4AH wasn't enough, so I purchased the 6AH. The 6AH easily lasts 70 minutes in the lawnmower and an hour and 20 mins in the weed eater. However, you need to factor in how hard the lawnmower needs to work - eg when the lawns are short and it's easy mowing you'll get a great runtime. This week we had lots of rain and warm weather which prevented mowing the lawn for ten days - which meant the lawn had a lot of length on it and the mower powers up to high to get thru it - the 6 AH lasted 25 minutes, the 4 AH ten. In normal conditions though the 6AH gives you plenty of runtime though.
Must have. It so handy. Xtra backup and peace of mind.
So good having the extra battery!
Not cheap, but pleased I got the extra battery
sure glad I brought this
having a quarter acre section mostly in lawns and raised garden beds with fruit trees etc....i found that the 4ah batteries (i have2) were not quite enough to cover the whole section with the mower and weed eating as well...but have since found the 6ah battery to be able to trim all the lawns with the mower and still have enough power (1 light out of 4)....which then leaves my other batteries for the weed eating etc
Can now get round full section
Great product, powers my tools for hours
