Q:
How often do you need to replace the blade on this mower
A:
Replacing blades will depend on how you are using the lawnmower, if the blades are in contact with hard objects like rocks or tree stumps there is a higher chance or them becoming dented, chipped or damaged, in which case they will need to replaced. The blades should be regularly inspected and sharpened after approximately 25 hours of use.

Greenworks WORKS

This review is for the Greenworks Lawnmower 460mm + Line Trimmer 40V 4.0Ah Kit and replacement mower blade. I bought this combo in March 2021 because it was the best bang for my buck, and I did not have many bucks. The property had been terribly neglected when I purchased it, the ‘Back Acre’ in particular was head-high in weeds. Initially it took me over 4 hours to mow the lawns, and I had to buy 3 extra batteries to keep mowing. It was too much for one old lady alone really, but I could not afford anyone to help me, so every week I subjected my Greenworks Lawnmower 460mm + Line Trimmer 40V 4.0Ah Kit to the utmost torture. Every week I mowed a metre or so into the head-high jungle, cutting down blackberry thickets and docks as big as small trees, but the paspalum clumps which were bigger than me, had to be dug out with my trusty spade. Every now and again I would strike some ancient treasure; an old miner’s bottle of grog or a vintage 1970’s brick patio repurposed from the 1968 Inangahua Earthquake that destroyed every chimney on the West Coast, and my mower blade took a little damage. Also, scratched up logs and stones that my chooks unearthed damaged the blade too. This year, after 3 year’s slog, I have treated my Greenworks Lawnmower to a new blade, and it is now fit to break in a new ‘Back Acre’, even if I am not! I cannot understand why everybody does not own one of these Greenworks Lawnmower 460mm + Line Trimmer 40V 4.0Ah Kits, they are unbelievably tough and durable.

Replacement blade 460mm

Not used as yet, but looks to be great quality and will make mower maintenance easy when can just swap blades over.

Replacement Blade.

The new blade made mowing so much easier, and has allowed me to keep a spare ready to change over. Grass & dirt does dull the blades over time, & sharpening makes mowing easier.

spare blade

Thought it would be a good idea to have a spare change the blade and sharpen the other when i need to so no interruption of mowing.

Greenworks 40v lawnmower

Happy with 40v mower. Mulch and catch functions both work well. 6amp battery will last for lawn catching out front ,mulching at back and using the self drive on the up hill.
