If you’re lucky enough to have a large lawn or just don't need a lawnmower with a grass catcher, then this side discharge model is a great option.
Simple, lightweight and rugged, this lawnmower has all the features you need to have your lawns looking ship shape. The 4.5hp Briggs & Stratton 500E motor combines with a generous 530mm cutting blade to make short work of larger lawns. Cutting height is adjustable from 30 – 75mm, while the rear guard flattens the grass as you mow for a precision finish. The handle has an OPC (operator present control) lever and is height adjustable, so you can get comfortable and stay safe.
Discharge is from the side and features a fine mulching function, making this the perfect option for dealing with large quantities of grass.
Tough, no-rust steel construction and a 2 Year Warranty let you know it’s built to last.

Very efficient machine

The good: ready for action out of the box. Don't forget to add oil and gas. Side discharge is an advantage when tackling larger lawns. The bad: the lowest cutting setting leaves the grass a bit higher than what I'd like it to be
Easy start. Quiet operation.

It has been a few years since I have owned a petrol lawn mower but it was a welcome surprise how quiet the engine is. The mulcher with the smoothing flap works wonderful on lawns and the 4 wheel independent height adjustment allows for precise height setting (although a little fiddly). The engine is more than powerful enough, although the engine switches off when bogged down with grass (chest high grass) - but that isn't what a finishing lawn mower is for. I don't like the Operator Present bar I'd recommend you don't cut off the cable tie when it arrives.
