It's a mean machine, transformed the grass into a proper lawn, come on summer !!!!!!! An unequivocal thumbs-up.
Brought for my husband as he was frustrated with the way our lawn was looking & decided it needed some TLC. It was put together within 30 minutes and had aeratored & scaifer part of our lawn within the hour. The poor lawn has had a-bit of a fright but is now looking lush & green. We have quite a big lawn so definitely looking forward to the rest of the lawn being done. Happy lawn happy husband .
I have a massive lawn and after getting grass grub, spraying for that, then weeds in its place which I then sprayed for the weeds but this then killed all the thatch and moss in the lawn. Family wedding on the lawn and it was basically brown and dead! So hiring wasn't an option as i live in the country and i needed to de-thatch numerous times so i bought this model.I only got 2 pass overs and then put fert on before winter. Cant wait till spring to crank it up again. It seems easy enough to use but I wasn't sure how far the wind the 'thing' down. It was pretty lethal on the lawn but then again most of it was dead and needed to be removed anyway. Nice big wheels which make maneuvering easy. Didn't use the catcher as it filled up to quick. Passed over once this way then the other way, then used ride on to clean it all up. Amazed at how much dead matter came off. Would definitely recommend!
I live In North Auckland with a Kikuyu Lawn (think its everywhere here now), this is the most aggressive grass type probably in the world, it grows horizontally above the ground and under the ground as well as vertically. It can grow under a metre of concrete and pop up the other side, likewise it can grow easily a metre tall to find light. My lawn has become more spongy each year and with this grass type. If I run the lawn mower lower it scalps it back but then it looks horrid as I am scalping back to the stems, not the grass tips that are green. At this point you need to scarify and cut all the horizontal runners etc that a lawn mower cant. Got this delivered today 11/05. Assembled it today, did a test run... wow...so much thatch coming out its unreal... it really does the job. Id also note, its not self propelled but the way the blades spin it pulls the machine forward.. so its not that much work to push it around. Be prepared for loads of thatch to dispose of if you don't do this regularly.
Outstanding - exceeded all expectations Beautiful results
