Easy, forgiving saw

2019-12-25T20:20:53+00:00This saw seems like a light-duty workhorse - It doesn't produce the sound and fury of the high-dollar swedish brands, and it feels a bit underpowered for the bar length, but this also makes it very forgiving and easy to control - No problems getting through the wood at all, as long as you're happy to go slow and steady - but there is a lot of plastic used in its construction, and it does not feel like this saw is 'pro level', but you would also expect to pay much more for a saw in this category. Requires assembly out of the box, which forces you to get familiar with the basic workings of the chain/bar/sprocket etc. - a good thing. Starting is generally easy, the choke and the priming bulb are easily visible and accessible, the the on-off switch placement does not seem prone to being knocked accidentally. This saw is probably too large to be waved around as a 'pruning saw', but it is lightweight and non-fatiguing during use - anti-vibration mounts are very effective on this saw. Too early to form an opinion on reliability or durability - general fit and finish is good, and after going through about 6 tanks of petrol/oil, cutting up poplar, gum and acacia branches and trunks for firewood, the saw has performed consistently since it came out of the box, and all seals and caps remain tight. Petrol and oil caps have retaining straps so they can't fall off and get lost which is good. I would recommend this saw for general light-duty use, and for people who are looking for a mild-mannered and relatively safe chainsaw. I think it represents good value for money.

2019-08-25T23:20:01+00:00good all round saw has been perfect for building retaining wall. better than smaller toy saws that bounce around. starts well and runs crisper then the older oil hungry 25:1 saw.
Great Value saw that works well.

2019-08-11T21:01:07+00:00I'm reviewing after 12 tanks of gas. I bought this after being a long time owner of a Orange saw that sounds like a Dog that lives in the snow. This saw performs as well as that one does. Its easy to start, it seems well balanced and the vibration damping is good. The brake works well. The chain adjustment is reasonably easy to use. Chain and bar are oregon and all worked well. Was getting about 35 minutes of solid work out of a tank. I processed some old dry manuka. ( hard ), and dropped several softwood trees..
