Lawn fertilisers
A healthy lawn provides the perfect site for kids to spend their days playing soccer or touch with their friends—and the ideal space for adults to sit back and relax all the while. Maintain your backyard with our NZ-made lawn fertilisers. These products contain nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and other nutrients that support long-lasting growth and root development.

Designed with a built-in spreader, Kiwicare LawnPro thickener gets thin lawns back to life. The innovative lawn thickener features a special combination of nutrients to support soil structure and microbial balance.
Weedkillers and moss killers
Before the weeds take over your yard, knock ‘em down with our specialised weedkiller and moss killer concentrates from Kiwicare. Our products include general weedkillers, herbicides for preventing prickle, hydrocotyle, and moss growth, dethatchers, and
insecticides.
Achieve the best results by diluting with water according to the specifications and applying with a pressure sprayer. Or choose ready-to-use products for quicker application.
How to fertilise your lawn
First, ensure the soil isn’t dry, and water it in advance if it is. Measure how much fertiliser is needed for your space; the ideal coverage per square metre is listed on the fertiliser label.
If using a handheld spreader, multiply the square metres of your lawn by the recommended application rate as listed on the label. If fertilising by hand, take care to evenly spread the fertiliser across the soil—half in the vertical direction, then half horizontally.
Water your new lawn well after applying fertiliser.
When should you fertilise your lawn in NZ?
Most grasses only require lawn fertiliser 2-4 times per year. The best time to apply lawn fertiliser in NZ depends on where you live and what type of fertiliser you use.
Should you fertilise before or after mowing?
It’s best to mow your lawn a few days before fertilising it. This results in a more even application, better absorption, and no nitrogen burn, aiding in the development of your new lawn.
