Product overview

Got a stubborn stump? Prevent regrowth and make it easier to pull with Stump Stop from Kiwicare.

Stump Stop contains Glyphosate as the Isopropylamine salt and comes ready to go with a brush applicator, while the bright red colour makes it clear where it has been applied. Simple!

For best results: Cut down below the lowest green growth and immediately apply gel. Hold bottle upside down, with the brush against the stump surface and squeeze bottle. Apply a thick layer to cover the entire exposed cut stump surface. Apply gel immediately after cutting stump. Do not brush vigorously, avoid foaming gel. Do not use when rain is due within 12 hours. Some stumps may require an additional application.

Q:
How long after application does it take to see any signs of deterioration in the stump / roots?
A:
It varies a lot depending on the size of the stump you are treating and large older stumps can take many years to fully breakdown. You can speed up the process by applying the product as soon as the tree is cut and by covering the stump in compost, lawn clippings or any organic material that will more rapidly compost and break down. If you have an older stump it would be best to cut it down further or drill holes allowing the product to be fully absorbed.

Q:
Any good for killing Bamboo shoots?
A:
Bamboo is a difficult weed to get rid of and there are no magic bullets however we have done some extensive research and found some helpful tips: 1. Cut the bamboo down as far as you can, and if possible dig out the root mass trying not to leave any rhizomes which would sprout again. Take the roots to the transfer station for disposal. You can mulch the leaves. 2. If you can’t dig the roots out, wait for new growth to 50-60cm tall and paint new growth liberally with Weed Weapon 3. It is likely that you will have to repeat this treatment 5 or 6 times as it will continue to re-sprout. 4. Check for new sprouting of any rhizomes and treat each of these as they appear.
