do i need to buy connectors for the 5 pieces as well ?

No these have locking tabs at either end to connect them together.

Does the black steel edging rust?
A:
No it is powder-coated steel to prevent rusting. We recommend taking care during installation to ensure that the powder coating does not get cracked or chipped.

How can we safely bend this to shape around a bed (especially right angles), without cracking the powder coating?
A:
These are best for creating edges with smaller curves, trying to bend them to a 90 degree angle may crack the powder coating

The powder coating is very tough, but you may see some scratches if you bump against it

It would be best to overlap the pieces and then cut locking tabs into the panels

Q:
Which install option is recommended: 1) A 16cm trench (deep enough for 8cm of edging plus 8cm of spikes) or 2) An 8cm trench meaning I would need to position the edging and then hammer it so that the spikes "dig in"
A:
We recommend an 8cm trench and that they are hammered in so that the spikes are imbedded in the ground inside the trench. This set up will provide increased rigidity.

Do you have to dig a trench or can you just stick it into the grass then dig out behind the edge to create a garden?
A:
It is best to have this sunken into the ground with around 8cm above the ground level

A great edging product

I have used corten steel edging to tidy up my garden edges around a large tree. It has made a huge difference. It bends to create a consistent curve and the joins are straightforward if you follow the instructions carefully and use the right tools. I fully recommend this product.

Made my garden edgy!

I finally replaced the random old brick edging with weeds constantly growing between with cool looking corten steel. I liked it so much I bought a second set to do the whole garden. Locking them together took a bit of figuring out but easy to push into the ground and create nice curves.

Great Stylish Edging

Nice product

Easy to assemble once you get the hang of it, it only took a couple of hours with help from a friend. Looks good and defines the driveway from the garden. Would buy again.
