Forget old fashioned lead acid tech or mixed voltages, this unit is powered by six state of the art, removable 80V 5.0Ah lithium-ion batteries that charge in an industry leading 75 minutes with the aid of three 10A dual port chargers - all included. These Li-ion batteries feature longer life cycles and better ageing characteristics than other types, giving you consistent performance for longer.

With 4 brushless motors (1 per rear wheel + 1 per blade) providing the grunt equivalent of a 24 horsepower engine, the twin blades shred confidently at 3000 RPM. Intelligent microchips constantly monitor grass conditions and adjust power as needed, giving you the best performance/battery life combo possible.

Paired with a top speed of 12km per hour and the ability to cut up to 2 acres at 15° inclines, the Greenworks ZTR will get the job done without the hassle of petrol.

Clean, green electric power means zero gas smells, zero pull cords, zero maintenance, zero pollution breathed and zero time wasted.

Integrated wash ports with hose quick connectors make cleaning easy, just plug in the hose.

Q:
Could the batteries be charged without removing from the mower?
A:
No, you will need to remove the batteries and place them on the charger. If you have a large job the recommendation is to have two sets of batteries, with one set charging at your base, while you use the others. With how fast the charger is you will never not have a full battery set to use, as long as you take a small break and swap them over.

Q:
Can the deck be lifted and tilted for cleaning
A:
It can be lifted slightly with the height adjustment lever. But for cleaning it has a hose attachment on the top of the deck for rinsing off debris and you would need to lift up the mower to get under for further maintenance. Greenworks recommends using an "Engine hoist" or a jack that is rated for enough weight.

Absolutely Love it

Unfortunately for me, I tried to save money and buy a cheaper one but sold it within six months and brought this one. Absolutely love it, so much better than the other one. I now love doing the lawns.

Ride On

Great little machine it took a while to master the steering controls as I have not had other than steering wheel models previously. Efficient for my section. Value for money, good range of accessories, very useful.

Electric ride-on mower

The mower was delivered on a steel pallet, with no way of riding off the pallet. I had to crash it off the pallet at risk of serious damage to the mower. The one end of the pallet ought to be configured, at little cost, as a fold down ramp. Once on the lawn, the mower performed superbly, with long battery life. To mow my quarter hectare property uses 25% of the battery. I recharge after 3 mows. The cut is clean. The wide drive wheels leave little impact on the lawn, despite the enormous weight of the machine.

No Regrets

Only been using it for about 3 or 4 months so far it's been fun and easy to use (after getting used to the "zero turn" steering). So many no's: No petrol No Oil No Air filter No belts No ear muffs

Exceeds expectations

I had grown tired of petrol ride on mowers that always end up being hard to start (battery/solenoid/relay/starter eventually pack up), noisy as (even when blades are not engaged), smelly due to the petrol and exhaust, and lets face it: expensive for what they are (a petrol push mower with all the complications of a small vehicle). My mechanic also told me that ride on mowers are only designed to do 200 hours before the deck rusts out. Then, after adding 20 solar panels to our roof, I decided to look at battery electric mowers. I was surprised they are not that much more expensive than comparable zero turn petrol mowers. I found the Greenworks Pro 80V mower at Trade Tested, and then started researching them online. One of the many You Tube videos I found was a review of this exact model after doing 700 hours. I was sold. I placed the order and received the mower via truck delivery a few days later as I live in a rural area of the South Island. It came mostly assembled in a large metal pallet/cage, with three large cardboard boxes containing the bits needed to complete assembly. Tip for assembly: make sure to remove the front part of the cage so you can drive the mower off that way after assembly. The rear part of the pallet has large gaps that make it hard to back the mower off (I found this out the hard way; serves me right for not reading the instructions carefully). My first use of the Greenworks mower really put it to the test. Since my ride on had packed up no would not start, the grass had grown to over 30cm high, and was thick. This mower was able to handle it without bogging down (I did drive very slowly the first pass). Battery life is excellent, and one of the biggest pleasant surprises is how fast the batteries recharge - from naught to full in about 75 minutes! The next time I mowed (a week or so later as the grass here grows very fast), the Greenworks mower proved what I had already suspected - it is a fantastic machine. The finish on the lawn is way better than any of the ride-ons I have owned in the past, and it takes 3/4 of the time to do the job. My experience is that the high settings on both the drive speed and blade speed are really not necessary, and I would think using them would decrease battery life a bit. The Greenworks mower is very manoueverable and has about the same footprint as a ride-on, so can be stored wherever you parked your ride-on (it is talller, obviously). I highly, highly recommend the Greenworks Pro 80V Zero Turn Mower. In my opinion, it is well worth the price, and seems built to last.

Battery mower supreme

This mower and its catcher have surpassed my expectations. I mow our lawns about 1.5 acres and my daughters lawns about 3/4 acre on a single charge and am only down to 30% of battery life. This is on low speed drive and low speed blades, which is plenty enough. The mower has side discharge, mulching and catching options. All three so far have been great. The lawn finish is good on all three options. The mower is easy to use very, very quiet. The batteries are easy to charge. I also received a free trimmer with the purchase and its grea to. The battery is interchangeable between mower and trimmer. Spring growth in Taranaki will be its next challenge but the performance its shown so far gives me a lot of confidence that it will handle whatever is thrown at it.

Good mower

I'm very pleased with this mower. Batteries last a lot longer than I expected. My lawn is about 2000 square metres and I do it 3 times before charging. I recommend this mower.

Brilliant mower, will never look back

We decided to switch to a battery powered ride on for several reasons: Cost of petrol, cost of parts/maintenance, inconvenience of breakdowns, environmental impacts. I am so pleased we went with this Greenworks mower. It packs real grunt, easily keeping up with the mowing power of my old John Deere ZTrak. We decided to get a set of 6 spare batteries so we can continuously mow while one set was charging. While this may be needed in spring we haven’t needed it so far as we get a good 90 minutes from a full set of batteries running the drive and blades on high. Manoeuvring the mower is easy, in fact it takes a bit of getting used to because the drive motors have so much torque it tends to slip if you don’t take off slowly (or have it in “low”). The only unexpected bit was that cleaning the underside of the deck is more difficult than my old JD which I could lift up with one hand and prop up on a piece of wood. This is too heavy to do that so we have a farm jack that does the job. Very happy with the purchase and expecting never to go back to petrol.

Greenworks electric ride on mower.

This is a great mower with plenty of power. Not much noise and easy to get used to to operate. No petrol engine means no maintenance and lower cost. I would recommend this mower.
