This slimline halogen heater is ideal for smaller outdoor areas up to 16m² - switch it on and make the most of your patio, deck or balcony.

Infrared technology produces radiant heat, the same as the feeling of warmth from the sun on your face and the heat from a log fire. Unlike a traditional convection heater that’s designed to warm up the air, infrared radiant heat is direct, so it’s significantly more energy efficient, cheaper to run and doesn’t put out any gas or dust. Importantly, because it’s not heating up the air, it’s still effective if it’s a bit breezy.

Q:
What's the difference between this heater and the similar one of the same wattage you have advertised for $349?
A:
This one uses a halogen element vs the carbon element of the Infrared Instant Heater. Both heat up quickly (the carbon a bit faster), the carbon elements have lower element temps for a softer radiant heat - test have shown carbon elements heat the skin more efficiently and is therefore experienced as warmer for a given output. The lower element temps of the carbon also result in a slight increase in service life. Because of the intense direct heat, halogen heaters are great for areas where the installation area is further away from whatever is to be heated, while the inverse is true for carbon. Both are effective, so really it depends exactly where you wish to use your heater.

Can this heater be used safely indoors too?
A:
Yes, as long as all spacing and location guidelines in the manual are followed (no bathrooms or similar near sources of liquid etc, 400mm from surrounding surfaces, 1.8m from floor)

Q:
We want to heat a church hall about 20m x 12m with a high ceiling (7metres). I realise we cannot warm the air economically so I propose putting 4 heaters along each side of.the hall at 2.4m from the floor. You say .4m clearance from surrounding walls etc. Do you mean we must stand the heaters off the walls 400mm? There do not seem to be any offsets in the installation kit

No, just from surrounding walls, so the wall it mounts to is not included - there is no direct heat on this.

If installed inside, in a warehouse space (ceiling 3m high and installed on the wall 1.8m from the floor as per recommendation), roughly how far does the heat travel. I am wanting to heat a 9m/7m space so want to know if I need 1 or 2 heaters?

You'll feel it up to approx 5m away.

Great addition to my deck keeping us out there longer. If it's really cold, you need to be close to it. Bulbs are quite bright, no need for extra lighting! So far all is good.
