Q:
Can the shade sails be left up all year round?
A:
Yes you can, that's not to say they won't last longer if you take them in for the worst of the winter.

Q:
When you say waterproof, do you mean they can be left out in the rain? Or they will stop rain from getting through to the the deck below?
A:
They prevent rain getting through, so make sure it is as taut as possible and installed with sufficient angle for the water to run off.

Yes they are.

Q:
How difficult is it to put up and take down? Would someone need to climb a ladder to detach it?
A:
Yes if you've installed at a height that is practical for walking under then you'll need a ladder - these need to be properly tensioned to allow water runoff, so it'll will definitely take more time to re-install than putting up an umbrella.

Q:
I want a 2.0 x 2.4 with a grommet midway on the long side. Can you do a custom for a Motorhome?
A:
No we don't do custom sizing.

Q:
How is it attached when up?
A:
It depends where you are putting it up really, we sell a general fixing kit with pad eyes and tensioner turnbuckles, however you may need a more specialised solution.

Good product, second one bought, first one lasted around six years. Held up very nicely in some strong winds

Not great

Installed this with 300mm of fall into one corner and as much tension as I could possibly apply. There is no installation guide but I feel this should be good. The centre still sags enough that when the first rain fell it filled up with water, had to pull it down in a raging storm. Don't recommend unless you have the option/want to put a huge angle on it.

Shadesale /tarp

The shade doesn't let the water through, so it's more of a canvas. So even though the shade was angled, the middle sags and fills with water when it rains ,the only way to stop it was to put a pole in the middle like a tent.

Beautiful but not water proof

Lovely colour and easy to install but unfortunately it was not water proof. A light, short shower was fine but anything heavier, it came through. So we had to put a tarpaulin over the top of it. We will be removing it and will look for another option so for us it has been a waste of money.

shade sail

not as good as expected, rained soon after putting it up, rain formed a huge pool in the middle of the shade sail, looking more like a pregnant shade sail than anything else. The material does not allow water to penetrate through.

Shade Sail 3.6x3.6m

Very happy so far as it has just gone up. Hoping it lasts the distance!

Shade sail

Very sturdy shade sail

Shade sail

Fitted with extra attachments. Works ok in sunny weather however when it rains we have to take it down as rain doesn’t pass through fabric and pools in the middle making the sail hang heavily. Pain it the neck in Auckland’s changeable rainy climate therefore wouldn’t recommend buying

Reply from Trade Tested It is best to install this shade sail on an angle making sure it is taut so light rain can drain off. We also recommend taking this down during extreme heavy rain or winds.

Sadly NO.

Have purchased a few, various sizes. Sadly they do struggle to be installed with enough tension to mitigate flapping. Two have begun to tear at the corner fixing.
