Can these lights be surface mounted.
A:
They probably could. You would need to create an alternative mounting solution though, you would also need to ensure that the top of light (where the solar panel is) gets sufficient sunlight to charge the battery. We usually recommend that this be mounted in the ground where it can get sunlight all day.

Yes this has a replaceable AA rechargeable battery. They have a 1 year warranty, but check out the reviews to see how others are getting on.
