Remember when using a shredder to take proper safety precautions and follow the recommended operating instructions. Always wear appropriate personal protection equipment.
Mainly used to shred fresh cuttings from Pittosporum hedge (a lot of leaves and only 15mm diameter branches)which it managed without any real issue. You do need to set the blade against the cutting block correctly which is easy enough to do as per instructions and be sure to feed the branches in through the larger part of the feed chute on the left hand side as thats the side where the blade does the cutting and automatically draws the branches in. If you dont feel the branch get drawn in then dont keep forcing more branches in after it as the machine will get blocked. Use the provided tool to poke the branch down further. I guess what Im trying to say is treat the machine right and it will see you right. I can see how it can easily be force fed and not be able to cope.
Excellent product. Works better than I expected. The shredder drum should be regularly adjusted so you can just hear it touching. Saw that tip on an online review - it's not in the manual.
Quiet, easy and safe to use, comprehensive instructions, easy to move around. Best to use longish material (over 25cms long) to ensure that it goes down the right (right hand) side of the cutter. I used a shorter branch which got stuck crossways and took a while to extract, so that taught me a lesson.
Have done a major clean up in last 3 weeks since acquiring, like 4 hours per day. U learn by experience as to how much to trim the branches before shredding, For example, green poplar/willow are long and straight, with any Y forks quite bendable thru the keyhole entry. Whereas with drier wood the Y forks are stiffer and may need to be lopped first. Gum branches are pretty hopeless because they have a multiple z shape which the keyhole has difficulty with. Green leaves are also easier, whereas large dried ones like poplar are light/soft and tend to clog the keyhole.
Very impressed with chipper mulcherj. Very easy to use. Great for all my pruning.
Never having used one of these before, I was a bit skeptical as to it's capability but I could not be more pleased with it's performance.
Needed a garden shredder to cope with tree trimming, and general garden maintenance. This Hyundai 2300W electric shredder has eaten Titirangi garden waste like tree branches (easily up to 40-45mm - if it fits in the slot it will cope with it), ferns, tree roots, and DRY bamboo. Have had no jamming issues, and it's quieter than other similar shredders I've seen/heard. Recommended!
This shredder is very good for my use. A little chunky on some branches but is ok. Gets ride of my pruning to compost or mulch. Very pleased.
I had tried a similar product a neighbour had and found it was good for producing great mulch/chip for the garden from small branches and after some research landed on this one. Generally works very well and good design, my only comment would be if you have long straight branches over 30mm it can struggle a bit and then overheat, sometimes this is just on one branch once it gets part way through. You are best to mix up the material so it is not working too hard for too long and cut larger material into short sections.
Much better than I expected it to be
