Good instructions

Having previously assembled a shed of a different make we were pleasantly surprised to find this one had instructions that were so much better! It also included good labelling and all the small parts were bundled in separate bags, with some excess of screws and rivets which are always needed. We were unsurprised that the riveter didn’t last, we have more than one at home as the rivets get stuck and it takes time to resolve that. It took us a couple of days to assemble all told, including the floor. We would have appreciated some help on how the shed related to the floor but eventually figured it out, the main thing being the corner brackets needed to be under the floor boards on a wooden floor. It was good though and these we mounted on stop digging ground screws making the whole job good.

Good value for money, looks great

For the price, not bad at all. All parts came in named bags according to instructions although it was weird that another step 1 appeared after step 5 which made it confusing. Package came with a lot of tek screws and a handful of rivets but we wanted to use rivets for everything so had to get extra. Took a few of us and a whole day to put the shed up but time was mostly spent aligning the panels correctly during installation. Overall, still a good buy.

A mission to put together

This is the 2nd kitset shed I've built in the last year but the previous one was from a different supplier. We bought this one as it was the right size, doors in the right places and cheaper than similar sheds from other suppliers. It was very difficult to put together with narrow metal panels, increasing the overall number of panels and therefore joins in each wall/roof. The panels had multiple scratches from rubbing together in the box. Instructions were very difficult to understand as pictures weren't clear, often resulting in needing to redo previous work when it didn't line up with the next step. Too many pieces in order to make each piece small enough to fit within the dimensions of the box. The result is a flimsier shed that is difficult to put together. If I could do it again I would go with a more expensive shed that might be more difficult to transport but with larger individual panels and bracing.

What you pay for is what you get!

After a lot of effort I have got a completed shed however, here is a list of my issues: 1. The instructions are poor especially the pictures. 2. Nothing lines up, the pre drilled holes are useless. The instructions say to squeeze or stretch the sheets to make them line up. Have you tried squeezing or stretching metal lately. 3. None of this is of any consequence until you get to assembling the sides and roof, because the constructed walls and roof are not millimetre perfect it is impossible to construct something that is square. 4. On the whole up to this point it looks reasonable until you try to fit the doors. The method for allowance to adjust them does not work as advertised, leaving the need for creative thought to make it work. 5. The installation videos, 3 things: a) Instructional videos should be exactly that not some aimless music playing when important information could be advise by the person showing how to build. b) The roof construction video had no bearing on my shed which had a flat roof, combine this with the poor quality of the pictures in the instruction book and it left me with a lot of guess work. c) In one of the videos the guy goes through 3 rivet guns just trying to get one to work, surely this should have been edited out. 6. I bought the floor for this shed and reviewed that, it too had issues that a few simple instructions could have remedied The end result is that with all the difficulty assembling I have ended up with an uncorrectable gap where my doors meet, I am going to rivet a piece of rubber to the inside of 1 door to edge to keep it weather proof.

First timer's patience tested, but I got there

I like the shed, but... The instructions videos are helpful for what they show, most frustrating for the details they leave out (eg installing the bottom rail (U148) in the door frame). No final close up shots of the completed section so I could compare their results to what I've done. A bit too much of screwing in screws; seen 1 or 2, seen them all. Trade Tested should test their videos by carefully watching a few people use them to construct a shed with sloping walls (especially to their wooden base)! Then re-release the video with filled in gaps where they have assumed people will just know.
