The bowl will automatically open when your pet approaches, stay open while they snack, then closes and seals shut when they walk away. A training mode can be switched on to help your cat adjust to the new bowl before you introduce the automatic open & close.
Suitable for both wet and dry food, this bowl has a capacity of 400ml or two standard portion pouches of wet food.
With 6 months battery life and replaceable 4 x C alkaline batteries (not included) plus a battery indictor when it is low, this bowl makes keeping on top of the battery life easy.

This feeder does not have the microchip reader. I emailed Petsure and they had a hack that would increase sensitivity at the cost of shorter battery life. Again Beware THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE MICROCHIP READER
I don't understand the other review ...they sense by microchip so why on earth would the cats colour make any difference?! Works well . Sometimes a glitch and hard to work out what the problem is but reading instructions does help! Stops my greedy cat eating both bowls!
