Questions and answers

q: Can this be used to house two feral cats?
a: Perhaps, but really we'd be checking with a vet or similar about what you might need to look out for.

q: Can the side entry gate be swapped to the other side of the run?
a: Yes it can.

q: How susceptible would it be to high winds?
a: Should generally be fine, it's mostly mesh. But like anything it will eventually have it's limit.

q: What is the size of the mesh- will it exclude sparrows from the cage
a: Yes it will.

q: Is the run permanently attached or is it removable?
a: You can remove it.

q: What is the timber? Is it treated? Ground treated? How long will it last out in the weather?
a: The timber is fir, kiln dried for 72 hours. It comes with a basic water-based stain. This is so people who wish their coop to be completely non-toxic can have it that way. Feel free to add treatment to yours for increased longevity (especially of its exposed), other options to help longevity would be raising it slightly off the ground, part treating vulnerable areas, having it in a sheltered area or building a base for it.

q: How heavy is this can I move it daily ?
a: It's approx 40kg, so realistically no.

Coops great the cage is rubbish

This does not fit 8 chickens, more like 4 max. I used ours to temporarily house 7 while we built a large enclosure over 2 weeks. We had to move this chicken coop every day around the yard for freshness. Taking the cage off to move the coop proved too much for the soft wood the cage is made of. The house is strong and really nice apart from the low perches. But the cage is rubbish. I would recommend buying a coop separate and adding a strong cage for those wanting more space and something stronger. There are options out there for the same kind of nice coop and a big strong cage like the metal ones for the same price.

Very happy overall with product. all items supplied with sufficient quantity (screws, bolts, locks etc). Simple to follow instructions, my 9 year old daughter could easily help and understand the steps involved. About 3 hours to build.

Great buy!

Although this chicken coop will take you WAY more than 1 hour to assemble (think 3 to 4!), when you're done, it's a great product! Not only is it large and spacious; quaint and extremely aesthetically pleasing; it is also very solid! This coop withstood crazy house shaking winds and torrential rain! I would definitely recommend it!

Easy to assemble but overall a bit flimsy. Would not house 8 full grown hens but 6 at a squeeze. Hens seem to like it and the eggs are easily recovered.

Item received in packaged form, well protected. All panels, screws/bolts and accessories included with simplified assembly instructions, and only one minor step was excluded. Nice to see extra screws included. One hole on the pull handle not drilled, but I can live without it. Assembly took 2 hours. Product as specified.

large coop with pen

I personally ,I wanted to have 4 chooks and would not agree it is adequate space for 8. (I have extended the pen giving them more space) not satisfied with 3 roosting rails so low to the tray of sawdust . re: hygiene + shape. (I have added a natural/branch roosting rail)

Sturdy Coop, Easy to Clean

We live on a lakefront and the night the coop arrived, it was flipped over in a severe wind-storm. Despite a few bumps and bruises, it survived in good nick. It's easy to clean out (soiled hay) which is very handy.

Lovely coop, easy to assemble, we did it in under 1 hour! We have moved it around the garden to give the chooks a fresh bit of grass. Highly recommended!

the design had changed from the picture on the website, and there is no lip on edge of the nesting boxes meaning any eggs or wood chips you put in them just fall out. The quality is pretty poor. The latch to the main door which is a very thin metal bent and the screws popped out within the first week of using it.

Received promptly. Relatively easy to put together (although would have been easier if pieces were marked properly). Great size - the biggest cage/run we could find on the market! and perfect to house our bunnies. Not the best quality wood, but understandle for the price. Good value. Good product. Would recommend to others

The product is good, however, Toll were less than ideal, sitting on the product for a couple of weeks, and then lying about where it was, and did not provide door to door delivery as requested.

It is an awesome Chicken Coop. Easy to assemble (even for a beginner), well designed and very suitable for my four hens but could house another two at least.

We purchased this house recently for our chickens. It's pretty standard quality, wouldn't expect it to withstand high winds or anything. The internal roof lining on the best box is already peeling off. Easy to put together. Shipping was terrible. I had to send to follow up emails to find out where it was.

Good for the price

Very easy to erect by one person. Would have liked the addition of tent pegs or something to hold it to the ground. Had to buy some. Also needed a stronger latch on the nest box. Another note - large enough for 3 - 4 chickens but no more - not comfortably, anyway. It looks good in the garden and the chickens like it.

I love my new coop which I use as an avairy for my canaries. Everyone I spoke to were absolutely amazingly friendly and helpful. The coop was assembled quicker than I expected and I am so thrilled with it and so are my canaries. Highly recommend this firm. I hope to be able to add a photo when I take one.

I have 5 hens comfortably in mine but don't think I'd like to squeeze 8 in like it says, so probably a bit smaller than it looks. Materials a bit flimsy but coop is easy to clean and hens are happy and dry.
