Q:
How many chookies can this house hold?
A:
The Supplier recommends this houses up to 8 "normal-sized" hens comfortably. But for most of our customers, it's more 4 or so chookies for a comfortable space

Q:
Can this be painted?
A:
Yes, you can paint this. It comes pretreated with a water-based stain, so using a primer is better. Just clean this and light scuff down first, then apply one coat of primer and two coats of water-based outdoor house paint. Have a chat with your local paint professional to get the right paint and primer

Q:
What is the timber? Is it treated? Ground treated? How long will it last out in the weather?
A:
The timber is fir, kiln dried for 72 hours. It comes with a basic water-based stain. This is so people who wish their coop to be completely non-toxic can have it that way. Feel free to add treatment to yours for increased longevity (especially of its exposed), other options to help longevity would be raising it slightly off the ground, part treating vulnerable areas, having it in a sheltered area or building a base for it.

Q:
The measurements say that the coop is 365cm long, that is over 3.5 metres and the run is 249cm, but in the photo the run looks longer than the coop, can you please confirm these measurements are correct, or is 365cm the total length of the coop and run combined, thank you.
A:
365cm is the total length for this product (Coop and run combined)

Chicken house

Spoke with the team there and advised what we wanted to do, they showed us a sample of a coop, which was to small for us, but advised they could do bigger, we got the bigger one and are very happy with the set up, so are our chickens

Wooden Chicken

The design is well thought out, although so incredibly flimsy, and needs to be reinforced. The advertisement reads for 8 normal chickens, but there is no way there would be enough room. The space to scratch is far too small. It would be a 3-4 tops.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Easy to assemble, requires a couple of minutes tweaks to make it more user friendly. Otherwise a practical product which easily accommodates my six hens.

Great first time chicken coop

Perfect for first time owner of chickens. My husband is a builder and could have built a sturdier coop BUT no time. This coop was super easy for me to order and put together all by myself. I made some small changes to the ladder and the inside of the coop, please see pics. Overall I am happy with this coop

XX-Large Wooden Chicken Coop

The actual chicken house is fine, it was easy to put together and is quite sturdy, i was a little disappointed with the outside pen, it is quite flimsy and (i know i should have measured it but) appears a lot larger in the pictures
