This cute and rustic model is made of solid wood. It has a raised sleeping area well off the ground to prevent dampness and a ramp for easy nest access. There are mini windows to keep it light inside, and the separate nesting area makes it easy to collect those valuable eggs. This great coop also makes a great home for rabbits or guinea pigs.

Yes you could.

Q:
What is the timber? Is it treated? Ground treated? How long will it last out in the weather?
A:
The timber is fir, kiln dried for 72 hours. It comes with a basic water-based stain. This is so people who wish their coop to be completely non-toxic can have it that way. Feel free to add treatment to yours, other options to help longevity would be raising it slightly off the ground, part treating vulnerable areas, having it in a sheltered area or building a base for it.

Does the nesting box have sections for each chicken? Or is it one open space?
A:
It's an open space.

Chicken coop

This was very easy to assemble and our chooks love their home, highly recommended if you don't want to build one yourself, you wouldn't build one for the price, thinking of getting another to increase our chook number for more fresh eggs

Great for guinea pigs!

My 12 year old and I put this together pretty quickly! Instructions are fine - just take your time and everything makes sense. Guinea pigs love it (and the cats can’t get in!!)

Wooden chicken coop

we've now had several of these over the years. We've moved them from one side of our farm to the other. After about 5 years we found we had to fix the nesting box by replacing the boards with a solid piece of timber and put legs under the nesting box. Very good value for money

Wooden Chicken coop

Great little Coop. So easy to put together. Compact enough to make it movable.

Didnt last long

We had ours in a mostly sheltered from weather spot, although it got full sun. We bought this in November 20 and it's now june 21, the trim has fallen off and alot of the wood panels are mouldy and peeling. Definitely have to replace within a years time of purchase.
