The Chooketeria is a one step self-service feeder that allows chickens the freedom to feed themselves anytime without human supervision or intervention.
An ingenious twin trough system provides space for dozens of chooks to eat at once, with features to ensure your chook's safety. Reminiscent of a kitchen pedal bin, hungry chickens simply step onto one of the foot 'pedals', which swing open the trough's aluminium lid to expose fresh chicken feed inside. Once the chooks step off, the lid closes shut automatically to keep vermin, bugs and weather out. This means you can leave the property for a few days and return to happy, healthy chickens. Can hold approximately 10kgs of feed, meaning that at 125gms of pellets a day per hen, a full All Rounder should last 8 hens up to 10 days.

The Chookteris “grandpa feeder” for chickens is a reasonably good product and with a few small changes could be a great product. 1) use loktyte nuts or double nut (locknut) the little screws that make the joins and the attachment to the lids 2) make the footplate about 1/2 again longer as the grown chicken's don’t stand that close to the edge of the feeder naturally and often won’t hold it open properly even when enticed close enough to see the food inside
having trouble getting the chooks to use it, it is a well made and should be just the thing to stop bird rodents etc, but the chooks are having trouble working it.
My chooks are terrified of this feeder. Everytime they step on it, the lid goes up and they all take off squawking like mad. They know the food's in there, and they go up to it and stand there looking at it, then as soon as a chook stands on the pedal, they take off and the lid comes clanging down, which adds to the panic. One chook refused to go into the coop at night because she could see the 'monster' and stayed outside in the rain all night. Very frustrating!! They starved for a few days, then I gave up.
Since I got the chooketeria I haven’t looked back.I have found it to be the best thing I’ve bought as a feeder. I would rec
Hens, got the brief over a couple of days...easy to set up Rodent free, strong and cook friendly
This is great.Took chickens little while to get use to it but now love it.I can now top up and leave them for couple days with good food supply.
Excellent feeder. It was easy to assemble even with arthritic old hands and chicks quickly got the hang of using it by putting a board on each side. The pegs popped off and weren't useful - but no need for them anyway.
Saves $$ on food, as prevents sparrows from feasting. Keeps food clean and dry. The girls only took about a week to learn to use it.
really easy to put together and it has cut our feed for our herd of 14 chickens and Tyrel the Annoying rooster by a third-Half. no more pesky bird eating all their food. only took them 7 days to figure out
Works as it should
