Product overview

The Chooketeria is a one step self-service feeder that allows chickens the freedom to feed themselves anytime without human supervision or intervention.

An ingenious twin trough system provides space for dozens of chooks to eat at once, with features to ensure your chook's safety. Reminiscent of a kitchen pedal bin, hungry chickens simply step onto one of the foot 'pedals', which swing open the trough's aluminium lid to expose fresh chicken feed inside. Once the chooks step off, the lid closes shut automatically to keep vermin, bugs and weather out. This means you can leave the property for a few days and return to happy, healthy chickens. Can hold approximately 10kgs of feed, meaning that at 125gms of pellets a day per hen, a full All Rounder should last 8 hens up to 10 days.

q: Any suggestions as to how you could adapt to have the closing of lid dampened ?
a: You could add some small dampeners, but remember these will make it harder to open, so you would need some sort of mechanism where they only act on closing - fairly complicated really.

q: Does everyone know if theses feeders are easy for ducks to feed from?
a: Yes they are.

q: Hello, can you tell me what the weight sensitivity on the foot pad is for this feeder? Is it suitable for light breeds like bantams? And how high are the sides? Thanks!
a: Yes it's fine for bantams, the sides are 190mm high.

The feeder is easy to assemble. The arms that are not screwed are flimsy and came apart after 2 days. Rather than using a punch to connect the arms you could bolt them. These feeders are the one of the most expensive and thus should be solid and provide years of use. The main reason I bought this double feeder is that it is New Zealand made

Such a good product. Easy to assemble. Good to fill with their food. Only thing was the pegs supplied. Didn't stay in place and kept falling out. No worries. Used huge bulldog clips. So good now the girls know how to use it. Best part - NO more birds.

Saved me a fortune on feed as the sparrows were eating most of it before. Only criticism is that when the lid drops down it's quite noisy and tends to frighten the chickens. A good idea would be to attach a pice of rubber to the rim, so when the lids drops down thwe noise is softened.
