Chew through large amounts of garden waste quickly and easily with this powerful, mobile wood chipper from Hyundai.
Chew through large amounts of garden waste quickly and easily with this powerful, mobile wood chipper from Hyundai.
Built to make chipping & mulching easy, the workhorse 420cc 4-stroke motor powers a rotating blade and anvil mechanism, that not only rips through your garden waste but gives this chipper a self-feeding action for maximum work with minimum effort. This model features electric starting for even simpler operation - just fuel up and turn the key.
Munch through branches up to 70-100mm in diameter depending on type and hardness of the wood, keeping in mind that dry hardwoods such as manuka and mapou will need to be significantly smaller to chip effectively.
Built tough with all steel construction, this is a heavy-duty machine, but is easy to manoeuvre with its twin hopper handles, large diameter, extra wide pneumatic tyres. It’s also a great option for larger properties thanks to the included 50mm tow bar mount (off-road use only), so you can take it to where the work is. The hopper is hinged for easy blockage clearance, while the extended, adjustable discharge chute is especially handy for feeding directly onto a trailer, ute deck or wheelbarrow.
The precision HSS blades and hardened steel anvil cut clean and fast, while the twin v-belt drive design gives smooth running, better shock load protection and simple servicing.
Suitable for larger properties and frequent use, this machine is capable of chipping and shredding large quantities of wood and branches into easily handled chippings quickly and effortlessly.

I purchased this to replace an old combo mulcher/chipper with something that could handle the volume and size of garden waste we produce. It is great at chipping branches, but not so great with the small diameter "twigs" or leaves - they still come out as twigs and leaves not chipped or chopped - so think carefully of your application before buying. Also there is no mulching function The instruction manual is very rudimentary, no real specifications on parts or any adjustment related to blade and anvil replacement and putting together definitely needs 2 people. It starts easily and works very well as a chipper - so rating is possibly low.
This shredder has changed my life. We have a large property with heaps of trees and pittosporums that all need to be trimmed every year. I used to have to cart it all off the property to someone elses burn pile. Now it goes on the gardens as a mulch. I wish I had bought it years ago. Thanks trade tested. Its a great quality piece of equipment
Easy to order, easy to assemble and impressive to use. Protective gear must be worn as chips fly out of both hoppers at times. Does everything we had hoped for, and chips and mulch covering much of our gardens already.
I have a 3.8 ha block and it works well for me. I have never had it jam. Previously had a 7hp chipper (different brand) and that was crap, so I'm happy with this one.
Assembling the unit was fairly simple. Just get the stand around the right way so that it folds out of the way when towing. Unit is tippy on undulating ground and could do with a wider spaced wheel axle setup, so you have to take it SLOW when towing behind quad. May get axle modified or new axle. However, the unit chips really well up to decent size branches 80-100mm easy as advertised, can do slightly bigger, just control the feed by holding the branch back. Easy to start. Great on fuel economy. Really fast chipping once underway and lovely chips. Good safety with feed bay protection belts and kill switch. A++ Highly recommend.
If you have a significant sized garden this is the machine for you as long as you have somewhere to store it. It fills in the gap between composting and the chainsaw for all of your woody material - no more trips to the dump or fires. The chippings are really useful too. Previously I had a 7.5 HP machine, this was too slow to be convenient. This machine is heavy but big tyres mean I can move it about without too much trouble
Have tried it 3 times, totally jammed up every time, first with Bamboo, then with Willow then with poplar. All small fresh green cut wood. They need to take it back and refund my money.
bought for use around school, looks like we might have to extend the axle width just to make it a bit more stable when it is being towed, apart from that perfect for what we want.
This chipper is fantastic. It does everything they said it should do. Very powerful chipper . Highly recommend this item
If you cut down a tree and feed it through fresh it will eat it like a marshmallows if it jams on old thin stuff that has been lying around and has no structure to it open it up and use a peace of 2x4 to turn it and free it up.I brought mine about 4 years ago I have a big backyard and one off the best tools I've brought you do have to tighten things up from time to time but what do expect thay go hard out.
