Hyundai Wood Chipper 15HP 308 with Electric Start

Easy to assemble, filled the engine with oil and petrol, wired the supplied battery and first pop we were away. Bonus being that it is an electric start, with the backup of pull start and very straight forward to operate. I live on a 10 acre property with 70% of the property in natives, this is definitely value for money especially when you can compare this semi commercial 15hp product for less than the price of a little 4.5hp residential product through your local hardware store, that to be honest would've struggled on more than half the branches I had to put through. Very happy with this wood chipper/shredder and would undoubtedly recommend to anyone looking for a semi commercial machine.

I have owned a 5hp mulcher for 30 years. I greatly enjoy making plant food from trash. For my 83rd birthday I purchased the Hyundai 15hp electric start monster. Only one complaint. Its so fast the job is finished before I get my usual mental mulching fix. What a machine! Yes I intend to widen the wheel spacing. I work on rough ground. And a tip. Assembly is much easier if the two 16mm lower hinge pins are shortened 4mm. Into the future i look forward to chucking many more 5 metre branches into this wonder machine. WHOOOOSH. Gone in seconds.

Does what it should takes every thing we throw at it

I purchased this wood chipper a few months ago and I'm very pleased with it. So far I've mulched gorse, acmena tree branches, flame tree, puriri branches all with leaves and no problems experienced. The mulch was not as fine as I expected but it was all broken down into compostable waste. I also chipped dead branches of Japanese cedar and this made nice sized chips. It is heavy and assembly awkward for just one person but manageable. The wheel axle is not very wide and it feels top heavy but no tipping so far although I'm nervous over rough, sloping ground. The only slight negative is starting - it takes quite a few revolutions to fire with electric start. Otherwise its perfect for my lifestyle block.

we purchased this chipper in january 2023 and lasted for 2.5 years when problems began.first ther electric start failed and we had to start by the pull start .had to replace the pull cord which broke with a steel cord to keep it going.replaced the blades inbetween failures.was a good machine when we purchased it and powered through a lot of small tree trimmings.probably why there is only a two year warranty as this machine does not last

I purchased this to replace an old combo mulcher/chipper with something that could handle the volume and size of garden waste we produce. It is great at chipping branches, but not so great with the small diameter "twigs" or leaves - they still come out as twigs and leaves not chipped or chopped - so think carefully of your application before buying. Also there is no mulching function The instruction manual is very rudimentary, no real specifications on parts or any adjustment related to blade and anvil replacement and putting together definitely needs 2 people. It starts easily and works very well as a chipper - so rating is possibly low.

This shredder has changed my life. We have a large property with heaps of trees and pittosporums that all need to be trimmed every year. I used to have to cart it all off the property to someone elses burn pile. Now it goes on the gardens as a mulch. I wish I had bought it years ago. Thanks trade tested. Its a great quality piece of equipment

Easy to order, easy to assemble and impressive to use. Protective gear must be worn as chips fly out of both hoppers at times. Does everything we had hoped for, and chips and mulch covering much of our gardens already.

I have a 3.8 ha block and it works well for me. I have never had it jam. Previously had a 7hp chipper (different brand) and that was crap, so I'm happy with this one.

Assembling the unit was fairly simple. Just get the stand around the right way so that it folds out of the way when towing. Unit is tippy on undulating ground and could do with a wider spaced wheel axle setup, so you have to take it SLOW when towing behind quad. May get axle modified or new axle. However, the unit chips really well up to decent size branches 80-100mm easy as advertised, can do slightly bigger, just control the feed by holding the branch back. Easy to start. Great on fuel economy. Really fast chipping once underway and lovely chips. Good safety with feed bay protection belts and kill switch. A++ Highly recommend.
