Q:
Hi, the CEM meter mentions that it will only read a small area around the prongs. What sort of area does the Kent meter read compared to the CEM meter?
A:
With all the models of "prong" moisture gauges they run a current in between the prongs that measures the reading. So it is a small area around the prongs and the area between the prongs that is tested

Hi we are wanting a meter to measure moisture content on macadamia nuts The distance between probes are important and do all probes have to touch the medium to get an accurate reading What is the lowest reading does this meter go to?
A:
This would probably not be suitable as all probes need to touch. The lowest reading is 0%.

Brilliant product

This is a simple, cost effective moisture meter. Last year I purchased firewood that was too wet - but without a moisture meter I didn’t know and struggled with the fire all year. This year, using this moisture meter, I was able to test the firewood before I bought it to make sure it was dry so we’re nice and warm. I highly recommend this useful piece of kit…

Great little tester

This is an awesome little firewood tester. Reasonably priced and does the job it was designed for. I would definitely recommend this.

Kent Digital Wood Moisture Gauge

I bought this as " this would be interesting tool" little did I realise that it would become an important accessory for our wood stove, the fire box isn't large so putting wet wood into it puts the fire out basically. We were delivered "dry fire wood" but quickly realised with the aid of the moisture tester that we needed to check each piece. Dry fire wood burns much better giving a more controlled temperature for cooking etc.

Easy to operate, works as described, useful little tool for determining if your wood is dry enough to be coated or for checking firewood

Invaluable gadget!

Now that we are all more aware of the importance of being as sustainable as possible, firewood takes on more meaning! This quick and easy little gadget is well worthwhile to make sure you’re not being sold a dud load, &/or sorting your existing stocks into seasons.

Moisture gauge

Very handy to be able to let people know how much moisture is in the firewood before they put in order in and when its delivered to them you can show them just how dry it is and if it's good to burn or leave out side bit longer before its put away
