q: How do you secure it in the ground?
a: There are quite a few options, it depends where you want to put it really. You could push it into the ground, use a peg and tie down system, concrete it in, drill and bolt it to wood etc.

Edwardian steel Garden arch

This arch looks gorgeous in our garden. Strong & sturdy but the legs could have been hubby extended the legs so we could concrete it into the ground to make it robust.

I love the product that I purchased it was so easy to assemble and I have turned it into a night and day feature, many people stop to take a look at it.

Frame is not strong enough for Purpose Have had to concrete the base over the bottom struts to erect it safely. Looks good but not a sound design.

Archway in situ. Transaction for buying it very prompt with courteous response. Design impressive but for me, material used not satisfactory. Rusted joints within a week and packaging not strong enough to prevent damage to scroll design with consequent difficulty to fit pieces together. To recap: assembling this Garden Arch Steel Edwardian archway was a nightmare.

This was easy to assemble but ended up taking a while due to one of the predrilled holes for the screws being out of alignment which needed to be drilled out again. Looks attractive and a good size.

I bought this garden arch to make the centre-piece of a new garden in my backyard and it is perfect. Easy to construct, nice and stable, and the perfect thing for my Dublin Bay rose to climb up.

We were looking for an arch for a corner of our garden to grow a grape vine over and the Edwardian Garden Arch had the "look" that we required. It was very easy to assemble and install. We are very happy with our purchase. Looks great at night with some small light wrapped around it.

Garden Arch Steel Edwardian

The Arch is a wonderful addition to our garden, the quality of the steel appears more than satisfactory and the general appearance is as advertised. We did have a slight problem lining up some of the holes so as to fix the screws and nuts but a quick drill to realign solved the issue. In all a very good product and priced well.

Good product. Sturdy and precisely manufactured. Had to attach 2 black steel supports as a bit wobbly in wind.

Graeme Christchurch

Definitely pleased with the design & result.

Arrived well packaged with nothing missing. Assembly needed a little drilling to widen two or three holes so it would all bolt together. Not the heaviest metal so care was needed when erecting the assembled arch. We put it in a garden & tailored some short stakes to put the feet in & keep in off the soil. Once up & levelled it has survived a couple of strong NW winds without any problems.

Caz waikato

It was simple and quick to assemble. It is also quite sturdy and strong looking. The design is good, I think this is a very pleasant design that would fit in with many different garden styles and not look out of place. I am very happy.

I am happy with the overall look at construction of this arch. It loses a point because the one we ordered was different than the one we recieved. Also the screws and nuts to assemble wern't the best fit, there was one pair that just wouldn't screw in.

Easy to assemble but one of the holes for the screws didn't line up and we had to drill through the hole to enable us to put the screw in. Looks pretty good in the garden. Can't wait to get the roses climbing up it.

Looks fantastic but flimsier than expected

This looks great with my climbing roses tied to the sides. The arch was pretty easy to put together though the steel is quite flimsy & some of the parts didn't slot into each other very well. I buried it up to the first cross rail & rammed the soil to try and anchor it, securing with strong tent pegs. So far it has stayed upright. It did get very bendy in the wind, so I tied a string to a neighboring tree to try and hold it upright. Hopefully by the time the climbing roses get bigger they will anchor it down nicely. Lots of people have commented on it looking great, will be interesting to see how well it lasts. So far so good.

Arch design is O.K. Doubts about durability/ paint finish. Would have paid a bit more for a better unit if it had been available. Trade Tested service was good.

OK assembly, but it should have an additional feature for bottom fixing either spike for ground connection or a base plate with two holes for concrete or timber connection. I managed to fix it, but for others it'll be difficult and they should apply for help, otherwise it's impossible to connect the arch.

Very pleased with the archway although I do think the bottom verticals could be longer to be able to push it into the ground more securely. I used tent pegs to help secure it.

We found the arch very easy to put together and took next to no time to do. The only problem encountered was attaching the arch to the side supports as the bolts were not long enough as the thickness of material was same as the screws provided. We ended up having to use another 4 M6x50mm screws to hold it together. Otherwise, a reasonably sturdy arch which meets purpose.

Excellent result looks just right in position. Easy to assemble except it would be good to have a spare bolt and nut as one just wouldn’t work as it seemed to be jammed with paint. Needs to have instructions to spray joins to prevent surface rust which appeared within a few days. Respectful and fast service/delivery time. Overall very pleased indeed.

A bit slow on delivery but happy with the garden arch so far. Is stronger than the previous model but I made sure I waxed all joints thoroughly as I could see residual rust forming only after being outside 1 day. You can't paint powder coating. Also needed to bolt to gate opening and set feet in concrete to make more rigid. These type of products can be worthwhile if you're able to make your own improvements.
