What is a hole saw used for?

A hole saw is essential when a regular drill bit isn't sufficient to cut through wood and metal. Capable of creating large, round holes, hole saws are available in 9 sizes from 16 mm to 64 mm to accommodate various project requirements. They are used in different DIY projects and professional trades to create precise openings in materials for routing cables, installing light fixtures and accommodating plumbing pipes.

How do I use a ho le saw?

• Attach the Pilot Bit: Secure the pilot bit to the hole saw using an Allen key. Choose a bit size appropriate for your material and the size of the hole you need.
• Assemble the Hole Saw to the Arbour: Select the correct hole saw size and screw it onto the arbour counterclockwise to prevent loosening during use. Tighten the side screws to secure.
• Attach to Drill: Insert the assembled hole saw and arbour into your drill’s chuck. Tighten securely using your drill’s tightening method—by hand for newer drills or with a chuck key for older models.
• Test the Alignment: Before starting your project, test the hole saw on a scrap piece of wood to ensure it rotates evenly without wobbling.

Our hole saw sets include arbours and a pilot drill; check the product description to find the correct size for your needs.
