Q:
Is it ready to use for $199 or is the price really $485 because I will need a battery and charger? I don't want to buy the charger and have it couriered only to find I then need the rest for it to be operational.
A:
This is for the skin (tool) only, so if you have no other Makita 18V tools you'll need to buy a battery and charger. However one you have an 18V LXT battery & charger they can power a whole range of Makita tools. It would ultimately be much more expensive to own a useful collection of tools if they all came with batteries because (as you've noted) the batteries make up a big chunk of the cost.

Q:
Will i be able to use this to inflate beds or swimming tubes or even briskets for water ?? Or even a water bed ??
A:
No this is high pressure, but not high volume. You need a high volume low pressure pump.
