Trade Tested recommends installation on a concrete slab to provide the strongest possible base. A strong and level foundation will improve the structural integrity of your assembled shed.
Sheds are kitset and come with assembly instructions. Our expert customer service team are on hand to help if you need it.
As this garage is over 10m², consent is most likely required by your local council. Specifications and diagrams are included with this cabin, however PS1 documentation is not available. Make sure you check requirements with your local council before purchasing.
Trade Tested takes every precaution to prevent damage during delivery and our packaging is designed to withstand some of the toughest treatment in transit. However superficial delivery wear is sometimes beyond our control.
Our friendly and knowledgeable gurus are trained to answer all your questions as quickly as possible. So if there’s anything you need to know just give us a call during business hours, or send us an email any time.
If you intend to use this as a garage be absolutely sure of your car measurements. I am unable to use this garage to house the car it was intended for. The door is too narrow and roof frames too low. However I will fit another car inside. I will purchase a another garage for the intended car after I finish this shed.
There is little choice for an affordable workshop of this size in New Zealand at present. The workshop comes in two packages. Packaging is inadequate as sheets of different sizes are simply allowed to slide against each other, galvanised components, arrived with surface rust, and the instructions are extremely poor; even for a Chinese shed. I assembled the workshop on my own, using a number of bespoke timber supports. Having assembled a lot of Chinese metal sheds I checked the lengths of ridge and walls. I had had to 'stretch' panels to use pre-drilled holes and was concerned. The ridge and side walls were 25mm oversize and the ends 10mm. As advised I had made the timber floor to the precise dimensions so this was annoying and unexpected. I contacted Trade Tested and it was suggested I simply redrill holes to reduce length. Would have worked on walls but not the ridge. I ended up extending the timber floor. The walls of the shed are comprised of numerous narrow panels . Walls are assembled by fixing 'U' channels, top and bottom to the panels with Tek screws. Even using a string line and formers, it is difficult to ensure that all panels fit completely into the channels and that you end up with a straight wall. The ridge is far too weak. If you get snow pass over this shed as it won't cope with the weight. It is also difficult to keep the ridge straight. I squared the walls and used supports to keep them straight. The ridge was propped at the correct height during assembly of roof panels. You have to freehand drill holes for the roof panels - nothing pre-drilled. Even using a jig it is a challenge to attach the roof panels and keep straight lines! Several other minor issues in particular there is no closing jamb on the 'fixed' door. It is not in the parts list but appears in the photos in the 'manual'. I had to make one otherwise there is nothing to stop the 'opening' door being blown in at the bottom, which would be problematic. I found the YouTube videos to be less than helpful.
Good product but it was a nightmare to assemble

Sound product but inaccuracies in the instructions. Some small parts missing.

I found the shed to be good value for money. I put it on a concrete pad which is important and it took 2 people 11 hours to complete. Very happy and have ended up with a shed a fraction of the cost of a traditional shed.

Good Quality especially for the price. Need at least one other person to help build. Light and relatively fast just a bit flimsy erecting the walls.

The packages are large and very heavy when delivered so make sure you get them placed near where the build is going to take place. A check confirmed that all the items were included in the delivery. Assembly instructions are good and I recommend that you view the You Tube videos as they provide plenty of extra information. Assembling the side walls flat was easy but very difficult to get vertical unless you have plenty of help - I didn't, so found it easier to make up the 6m side walls as four separate panels and then erect the first one and brace it vertically. The next panel was clipped into the first and braced. This process was followed until the side panel was complete. I also located the side door in the back panel which required the purchasing of 25x20mm aluminium angle to brace two panels in the one side wall. The same process was used for the front and back panels. Each half of the front and back panels were assembled and attached to the relevant side wall then joined in the centre. Once the four walls were up and braced, the rest would be like putting together a Meccano set. A few points to consider: 1) You need at least two power drivers with spare battery packs, one for Tek screws and one for drilling. 2) The Tek screws create a lot of fine metal particles which rust when coming into contact with water so make sure that you remove them from the bottom and top tracks of the walls. 3) I found it easier to drill a small hole before using the Tek screws 4) Make some timber brackets to fit over the top of the walls at the panel joints as this prevents the panels from buckling when vertical as well as providing a bracing point. They should also be used to hold the top corners square until the roof is put on. 5) This is not a one day job unless you have a team of 5+ people
I installed this product on a concrete slab added a few more rivets and stiffener in the centre roof support. Only downside to installing was the plans and the small panels. Good value for the money.

Hard to put up as instructions not clear enough. Not strong enough enough, and channeling at base simply funnels water inside the shed. Worst of all, it started to rust days after it was put up. I don't expect it to last more than a few years. Maybe great for Oz where it's drier, but not here.

Sorry TT but terrible quality....suggest you try doing one inhouse! trying to put up cladding first then install the frame after as per instructions was a waste of time - whole thing was Impossible to do, ended up making my own timber frame, roof and frames for doors...basically I paid for thin flimsy cladding with even thinner powdercoating!
