Great product. Great value for money

Good quality materials and hardware, but the instructions at some points are not clear. The biggest issue however is that the size of the shed and base are very far off each other. The shed is a fair bit bigger than the base, and comes with hardware that would work with a different kind of base, or just a larger one. Extremely disappointed as it’s not exactly a small purchase, and to now need to figure out an alternative solution to match up the shed and base is quite frustrating. I would probably recommend this product to friends if the combo was with a better suited base.

Pretty good value for the money, you need to take the time and work through the assembly because the instructions are not crystal clear, I assembled mine on my own which in hindsight was a good choice. Its been up a year now and I am starting to replace the tex screws as they rust, and I will be replacing the hinges with stainless steel, I would guess it has a usefull life of approx 15 years, maybe 5 if you live near a beach.

Solid large storage shed

The instructions were okay mostly though there were some times when we had to check the identical neighbours shed to make sense of them. Photos in the instruction booklet were not very clear. Shed took 40 hours altogether to put together. Impossible to put the ridging on and to secure the middle 3 or 4 screws without getting onto the roof.

Shed is very difficult to build on your own. I recommend at least 2 people minimum. The instructions along with video help was adequate. Everything is supplied. The channel which fits along the bottom has inadequate draining so I drilled some 12mm holes about a metre apart to help with drainage and prevent water flowing in; I also recommend sealing all the way round for the same reason. The shed itself is good quality for the price and once put together looks good. I was happy with the price and result, and would recommend the product.

Overly complex to construct.

well priced and sturdy enough once constructed but the build process was overly complex compared to other sheds we have built, the instructions unclear and ended up needing 4 people at once to get it done. Wouldn't buy same again.

Yes believe it or not I lived in the shed for 8 weeks until my transportable home arrived, late due to Covid 19. Heats up by 4 degrees when lined with cardboard boxes. Too easy to break into as I discovered when I lost my keys. However, overall is a value for money purchase. It may have thin metal walls but they with stood the winds and winter AOK.

Great Little Shed

This is going to be my she shed. The builder put concrete on the floor, which my Dad tells me will last longer and keep the vermin out. I am currently living in it in Kakanui and sleeping in the car waiting for my transportable home to be delivered in 11 days. Hoping Covid doesn't overtake. Nice spacious shed - got enough stuff in to cook, listen to stereo etc. The walls seem thin to me but time will tell if it survives the North Otago elements. One thing the builder did do was screw it into the concrete base as it can get windy here.

Don't expect it to last long

Assembled the shed and even before completing it I was seeing rust penetrating the paint in places that didn't look scratched. I suspect this is just painted steel without any galvanising. Instructions say to wax the shed and keep it clear of leaf litter, hard to do. The roof edge has U section along the edge guaranteed to trap dirt and vegetation. The bottom of the walls likewise. When this shed falls apart I won't replace it with similar. Also the instructions are so-so, pictures of the shed taken inside another shed and are tiny! Would be vastly better to have a link to a video. Also be aware there's a fair bit of work putting this together, more than a weekend for most people I expect.

Not an easy task!

Our shed is half-built - walls are done, just need to add the roof and doors. The supplied A5 size instructions are not clear but the online videos are much more useful. You really need three people to put the large sheds together - and don't try doing it when it's windy! We are also going to add timber battens inside around the top and bottom to add stability. More well-written A4 size instructions with clear photos would be very helpful.

Great little unit. Definitely a 2 person job to construct, but as long as you don't rush it, and do follow the instructions, it is relatively straight-forward. Recommend supplying your own drill bit. The one supplied in the kit broke on the fifth hole. Also fitted my own hinges & locks, as those supplied seemed a bit flimsy. But otherwise a sturdy shed once it is all fixed down

Wingnut Waiuku

Shed build

This is a 2 man job as per the videos. THIS IS A GOOD BUY FOR THE PRICE AND AFTER 3 years still happy!! Instructions suck big time and need clarity and better printing even if it costs 10 dollars more - this is the biggest issue. The roof not screw down the base till you are 100% sure it is square or the last roofing panel will be out of alignment. Base...Buy some sand or fine gravel and smooth out the base area and it will also help alignment and with water absorbing into the ground away from you’re toys . Sealing .....I used silicon on all the corners, base channel frame join areas and and roof apex joints, plus drilled extra holes in the base Chanel framework ( and painted immediately ). This allows water running down the side to exit easy. U must check monthly to make sure the holes are not blocked with dust and grass etc as the water will go under the channel and into the shed. Drill bits did not last so buy 1 or 2 more. Pop rivet gun broke. I put it back together and it was ok after that.

The shed has a low price in comparison to other retailers, and I now know why. The quality is average. I'm regretting not spending more money on a nicer shed. It arrived in a solid box - but yet some panels were damaged (not in transit). I've only got the doors to fit together and hang, and the shed is complete - but what a mission it was. The instructions are below average! The roof gave me the most trouble - you can only stretch out the panels so far... so if you make the walls slightly too long, the roof will be a tight fit. Don't assume predrilled holes are correctly positioned either, because they're not. I've assembled many things in my time, I'm in a trade, and I've also worked on multiple building projects... and this shed has by far been my worst project to date.

Surprised that it all fitted into the one box. Instructions are a bit vague but the videos clarified that. Two people definitely needed to assemble. A good solid base and floor makes the structure a lot better. The door hardware is pretty flimsy, I replaced the hinges and the locks with more substantial items. Quite surprised how rigid the shed is when assembled. Overall I like it.

Went up pretty easy, but the ridge beam was fiddly to get right as the instructions are not very helpful at this point. The beam parts overlap and you really need to measure the beam and make it fit. Don't assume the pre-drilled holes are correct.

Although I downloaded instructions on your website they were still hard to understand, steps out of order, and poorly worded. The rivet gun supplied broke after using it 3 times. The waterproof tape supplied only went around half of the shed. The matching kitset wooden floor was to small, so had to extend it. The paint scratched easily. End shed was not waterproof, and had to fill in heaps of gaps.

We purchused this shed after another supplier couldn't deliver. We are very happy with this shed and will definitely look at trade tested first next time. Delivery was great and we were surprised at how small the package was but it was heavy. We had to unpack the whole product out of the box to get to the instructions. We found that we also needed to use YouTube videos to get a full picture of how to assemble the shed. Our shed is not perfect but ours stood up through a storm when our neighbor's much more expensive shed disintegrated. I would definitely buy from Trade Tested again.

Brought when Trade tested had a special. Rivergum colour better than expected. Delivered quickly. Well packaged and easy to account for all parts. Instructions are ok. Recommend watching youtube videos. You need a decent drill. Rivet gun supplied isnt good. It does take time to assemble. Having put together another brand recently, made this easier. We brought longer tek screws for the gutter end of the roof so you screw through on the high of the iron (more weather proof). We liked the fact the shed is mostly assembled with tek screws. I have access to sheetmetal so have made the shed more secure. Overall a value for money garden shed!

Delivered within three days. Instructions were easy to understand after laying parts out and accounting for them. Lots of extra screws and rivets. Screw can only be used once to drill through the panels (to blunt after that), no problem as plenty in the pack.easy to put together. Be prepared to move sides backwards and forwards to get good alignment for first roof panel each side then its a breeze. Secure to floor after roof is on.

This is the second Garden shed we have erected from Trade Tested and overall we are very pleased with the value for money. The only critism we would have is that the instructions are very vague and sometimes misleading and the diagrams are extremely difficult to interpret and see clearly. Overall erected successfully and took approximately 2 days to do so.

Engineer Taranaki

Not as easy to put together as the instructions say, this size of shed required three people to hold walls whilst it was being assembled. Not enough tape and weatherproofing tape suppled, the drills supplied were of poor quality and became blunt really quickly. The protective plastic wall lining was a real pain to remove, it took two hours for this size of shed . The magnet dropped out of the supplied driver socket, I had to glue that back in so I could use it. They could do with supplying a door handle. The overall thickness of the metal sheeting could be "heavier" it creases very easily if you are not careful with it. Unsure of its longevity I would recommend it but with a comment regarding the assembly instructions being poor.

This was a mamouth task for me as I have never assembled a shed before and was going to rely heavily on the instructions. The many parts were all well labled and packaged, assembly instructions were photocopied pages from a booklet, and it has many photos which were not always clear. Any written instructions is kept to a minimum it would have been nice to have had a bit more detail. Putting the roof on is a real challenge, and you will need helpers. Shed is now fully assembled and looks fantastic, its been a learning curve but worth the end result.

I'm pretty happy with shed shed for what it cost. Some of the instructions were tricky to read and understand. The black and white photos sometimes made it difficult to see. Garden shed assembly

The shed itself is good. Assembly though takes a lot of time and the initial erection of walls requires ideally 4 people as the wall are very flexible until joined together. Stability only happens when roof panels are fitted. While wall frames are pre drilled the self drilling screws take a long time to drill through the metal. I found it easier to use the predrill holes to guide a 2.5 mm drill to get throught the panels The roof was easy to put on, but no predrilled holes. If the panels also had been punched with holes assembly would have been a lot easier Fitting the roof gable was a mission. In the end I used a sheet of ply on the roof panels to even load on roof panels and crawled up this to be able to fit the final gable screws Would I do this again? No, I would pay someone to erect the shed or pay more to get a shed that is easier to assemble.
