Product overview

Designed to work with standard 40ft shipping containers, our range of great value container shelters are the perfect way to provide fast, easy protection for your work force and equipment.

Boasting an extremely strong hot-dip galvanised frame, this 12m x 8m (40ft x 8m) shelter is built to shrug off bad weather.

The covering is made from heavy-duty 610gsm PVC, which is UV stabilised for New Zealand conditions to ensure long term durability and help block radiated heat. By minimising heat transfer through the PVC, the environment inside the shelter stays cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

The fabric is completely waterproof, so you and your equipment will be dry year round.

Adding a shelter to your work site means your equipment, materials and people stay in tip top condition whatever the weather, enhancing the safety, quality and speed of your work.

Our container shelters are free of interior wires or bracing, making them perfect for storing vehicles and machinery that require a bit more room.

The container shelter PVC cover is attached to the frame with supplied ratchet tie downs.
Full assembly instructions are provided and if you move to a new site, just break down the shelter and take it with you. We recommend welding the shelter frame to the containers.

All workmanship and materials are backed by a 5 Year Trade Tested Warranty, so you know it’s built to last.

Does a shipping container shelter need a resource consent and building consent?
No it sits outside their criteria so it does not require these. If you have any concerns about this please discuss it with your local council first as the NZ local bylaws for this can vary.

1/ do these require a permit can these be attached to an existing shed at 1 end
No they don't if used as temporary shelter. They are designed to we welded to a shipping container, so it would be up to you to decide whether your chosen fixing method is comparable in strength to this.

What happens to the rain off the roof? Are there gutters or does the water run down the covered side of the container?
Unmodified it will run onto the roof of the container, but we're sure you could rig something up.

can these shelters be used with just a bottom frame instead of a container. I have a shed that I want to put a lean too type shed on the side and this would be a great idea for this I think
Yes you could, but bear in mind these are designed to be welded to shipping containers, so there is a lot you would need to take into account to make your method of support strong enough. Perhaps our Utility Shelter might be a better option? Feel free to call our sales team to discuss.

Great Shelter, rubbish instructions

The Shelter is great, and has already had to stand up to some decent winds and rain. However my only gripe is that the instructions in the box were terrible, and if I wasn't experienced in building and engineering I do not think I would have been able to follow them to put it up. Maybe that's the point...
