Before I bought this product I read the reviews. 1 review mentioned a problem with rust over a short time span. I rang trade tested an queried them about the rust and they reassured me that this issue had been resolved and there was a much better process for galvanizing in place. On this recommendation I bought the carport but I am very disappointed
I set about marking out the footprint for the carport and it worked out just as I had hoped. I bolted the base with rawl bolts to the concrete kerbing and on the drive way drove (900mm) steel spikes into the drive way. I next made some blocks of wood that fitted the base and the Connector side post, I then assembled the top section and bolted the top brace at the correct width.( As we sometimes have wind gusts I decided to use HT 6mm bolts for the braces as well as the vertical cross beams. I made a tripod and then lifted the top section up and removed the wooden blocks and installed the side posts to the top and base. I installed the two outside vertical beams and I will now need some help plus a scissor lift to take me up to 3 metres to put on the roof. I completed putting the roof on my carport before I went away over Easter. I did hire a scsisor lift as suggested which worked out well. It only took 4 hours to finish the roof. My only problem was that as can be seen in the attached photo was that the roofing iron was 800 mm too wide. I can not see where I went wrong? In my case this was to my advantage as I put up some shade cloth between the carport and the existing garage and the extra length bend down so there was no sharp edges to rip the shade cloth. All in all I am very happy with the carport. Of cause the big test is if when we to get some high winds, but I am sure the construction is sturdy enough to not cause me to worry. I bought one of these 5 years ago .It is all rusted .The 12 year warranty does not cover rust.I live in a rural community ,Zone C. .There are corrosion zones which cover most of NZ, and unfortunately you basically have to live in inland NZ to qualify for any rust warranty [BRANZ zone B]. Coastal NZ where the majority of us live is BRANZ zone C and D . Please note that Trade Tested advised me that they no longer sell the carport that I bought.BUT it looks exactly like the one that is currently being advertised .Buyer beware. Do not buy this product . .
Built this by myself with a rolling scaffold and 8 quick release clamps to hold things in place while fixing. absolute mission took 68 hours, highly recommend 2-3 people. As mentioned by other reviewers the bracing screws were inadequate. Took 9 hours to remove the plastic from the roofing iron what a pig of a job. I didn't fit the roof drip edge capping as we have a Totara tree above and would of just blocked up Overall this does the job intended for and looks fairly smart

The carport went up easily, 3 of us with a scissorlift, took us 2 days but we could have done it in a day and a half, we wasted a lot of time trying to remove the plastic covering from the roof sheets, bloody mongrel of a job.
Very good value for money. I upgraded to heavier duty screws and cover ridge (as supplied ones were very inadequate). I also added extra bracing. Getting the plastic protective layer off the the 70 sheets of colour steel was very laborious. The structure is quite high so my two tiered platform (also from Trade Tested) made the job safe and straight forward. The assembly instructions are sketchy. Overall I would recommend.

Overall pretty good value for money. Because of the size erection does need something like a scissor lift to make things easier/safer.

Great building, good value for money. A little vague with the instructions on roof sheet positioning but really I was impressed. Am getting another one for storage at work!
