Q:
What are the dimensions of the cassette?
A:
The whole unit is approx 75mm wide, the bracket bolt holes are 48mm apart, so this is the minimum width of surface it can be attached to.

Q:
How do you make it a shorter length? eg 2m instead of 3m, and keep it taut? Thanks
A:
The roller is sprung, which will keep it taut at any length.

Q:
What is the metal parts (poles etc) made of... galvanize steel or powder coated steel? I'm asking about the rust risk when exposed to rain
A:
The casing, brackets etc are aluminium, so this isn't an issue.

Q:
Hi just wondering what sort of wind this does withstand? We are fairly windy
A:
It's ok with a light breeze, but it's not designed as a complete windstopper, so you'll need to retract when the wind gets up.

Q:
Hi I have three questions. How strong is the fabric, will it tear or rip easily? If someone leans against it will it give way? Would it be possible for a child to stretch the screen and crawl underneath it? Thanks
A:
The fabric is tough (280g/m²) and won't tear easily. It is not designed to support the weight of a person. If set up properly it would be difficult for a small child to do this, however we don't sell it as a child safety device so can't say definitively.

Q:
Will it attach to a plaster house wall & supporting pole into outdoor patio tiles ? Thanks
A:
You will need to drill through and attach it to the framing behind the plaster board. The pole should be fine with some masonry anchors.

Q:
Hi, if I had a centre pole, I assume this would go round it to create an arc when pulled out?
A:
Sure yes you could do that.

Worth the wait (just)

Appears well made, very tight spring on the mechanism and will hopefully last well. Used some larger screws to mount the pole than ones provided as a lot of tension to resist. Even so, the screen doesn't remain equally taut at the top and bottom and this may cause differential stretching over time. Will never again order anything that's not currently in stock.
