Are the barrels new? I see that the ones at others are recycled from wineries and some reviews say that they looked weathered. Just checking if yours are new or to expect some weathering?
A:
No, the barrels are all used and come from Vineyards/wineries. No two wine barrels are the same and you should expect some weathering, have a look at our reviews on this and the full barrel as we have lots of great photos showing the condition

love the colour. don't want it to go grey over time. what protectant / sealant would you recommend ?
A:
As these are made of Oak which is a hardwood these are built to last, however to get the very best out of your wine barrel you could protect this with a timber protector like Metalex.

Can you use these for goldfish ponds?
A:
Yes you could, I would recommend getting some pond liner to line the barrel and prevent leaking.

Can I plant with soil directly, or do i need a liner and pebbles at the bottom, for rot prevention ?

Yes you can line it for the best possible longevity, but oak is a hardwood, so it will last a long time regardless.

These are not drilled for drainage - however it would be pretty easy to do if this is what you were after.

I bought another 2 of these half barrels they are in very good condition,the 2 on my deck I put wheels on them so I can easily move them around,I put 4,5 bags of potting mix in each barrel they were 30 ltr bags and
