So why do you recommend using this none IP rated dimmer with your IP rated outdoor festoon lights?
A:
This dimmer will be close to the power point, which for many people will be in a sheltered location or inside. If you have a completely exposed outdoor power point then this is not suitable.

These are an excellent product. We use them for festoon lights that are just a little bit bright for that ambient touch so you can dim them while the party is on and turn them up when its food, speech or home time!
