I've used petrol ones before so I wad worried this wouldn't hack it. Worked fine, I was able to split rings as big as I could carry. Can be a little slow to return so you can innovate by putting a block in there.
It is just as advertised. 7T is perfect for our lifestyle block. It has gobbled up and split everything we have thrown at it. Built like a tank and has nice simple safety features. It is heavy as it should be so just make sure you have help getting in and out of thr car or trailer and assembling it.
Firstly, thanks to all those that reviewed previously, I may very well not have considered this otherwise. This is a solid, well built, easy to use splitter. It easily splits "recommended" log measurements and had no problem with larger. The wood i have has been pre split but pretty large pieces and alot with narly knots. All the wood done today there was only one piece where it tapped out. I've always preffered petrol power, im a bit of a lad like that, but had to ask myself if I really needed a 30T+ splitter and spend around $3k on it. Answer was NO. Luckilg found this and reviews were really good so have it a nudge and definately not dissapointed! As per other reviewers, you will definately want to lift it up for operation. Trade Tested have a 150kg work platform close to 600mm high for under $100 which will do the trick and save mucking around. It is bloody heavy (80kg) so have someone give a hand with lift. Also use a block up against shorter rounds to reduce ram travel time. Unless you are hard out large and high volume splitting, i reckon most will be really happy with this! rutefo
No problems with using the splitter. Awesome product
I am really impressed with this piece of equipment. It performs to a level exceeding what Trade Tested have recommended. I see I will be getting years of use as each winter rolls around.
Bloody good little spitter for the price
We looked at several larger petrol splitters and after reading all the reviews for this one decided to buy it based on us being off grid the electricity being free it was a more favourable longterm option. I started off testing it with green pine rounds just smaller ones and worked my way up to old gum rounds, wet soaked pine, old knotty rounds, whatever I threw at this thing it wouldnt falter. Highly recommend this splitter to anyone who has a lifestyle block especially those off gridders like us
Really good bit of kit. Well made. Place on a table to save your back. Can handle larger logs than the say. Just chip away at the edge of the log first. Very heavy use two people to lift or think about and lift in stages.
Have now split several large piles of large diameter logs. Only one failed to split and that was horrible wriggly grain gum, no problems with the remainder. Because it is quite heavy and the wheels are very close, it is bit wobbly to wheel any distance so best to set up in a sheltered dedicated area. I am getting on a bit so use a chain block to set it up on it's bench - the hole in the steel above the motor easily fits the chain block hook. Veery happy with the 7 ton splitter.
Great product this will break anything.
