I have been told that Battery operated hedge trimmers are a waste of money they last about 10-15 minutes and the battery is flat . I would get completely frustrated with this if it is fact. I want the truth , not sales pushers answers
A:
Run time varies with load (generated by the material being cut), as such it's difficult to quote real-world run times. We'd expect you to get around 30 mins of mixed use on the 2.0Ah battery. Generally we point people in the direction of reviews from other customers (on this and similar Greenworks products) to get an idea of run time and conditions it is being used in, and how that might relate to their situation. If you are cutting a huge amount of material then perhaps petrol is still the best option for you, however with a couple of batteries and the optional fast charger (2.0Ah full charge in approx 30mins), you'll be very surprised how much work you get through!

We wouldn't recommend it, it's a bit of a tricky one. Really you'll need to lop it.

Lesson Learnt

I purchased the Geenworks Hedge trimmer to pair up with the Greenworks outdoor vacuum blower (same battery). The reason being I purchased a cheap hedge cutter a few years ago and regretted it. I cut the power cord twice. The performance betwwen the two units is not comparable. Actually looking forward to the hedge growing now.

Camellia job

Out of the box the hedge trimmer feels quite solid for the price, blade looked good and sharp. Its first work out was shaping two Camellia trees, there were some fairly thick branches of approx 8-10mm which slowed the trimmer down but still it got through them, it performed better on the lighter brushy stuff with quick sweeping actions. Overall I'm really happy with it and the fact I didn't need to suck back 2 stroke fumes makes it well worth it!
