Product overview

You better sit your kids down before showing them this playhouse because it is guaranteed to blow their minds.

With an interior mezzanine floor accessed by a ladder, this is the ultimate hideout at the bottom of the garden. The only downside is that your 5 year old might end up with a nicer house than yours.

The four persepex windows let in heaps of light while, combined with the hinged spruce door, keeping the weather out. Each of the lower openings even has a functional planter box, perfect for teaching the kids about gardening and giving the finishing touch to this fairy tale cottage.

With 3.8m² of floor space there is enough room for a whole tribe of the neighbourhood kids, while the interior mezzanine is fenced for safety.

Made from quality, sustainable Nordic spruce, the 16mm thick wall panels come pre-assembled making the build process as straightforward as possible, while the floor and roof feature tongue & groove construction for a precise fit.

Supplied untreated, it’s a blank canvas for your kids imaginations, so hand them a paint brush and see what they can do.

Q:
Hi, if we were to create a concrete slab to build this on, how thick would this base have to be? Thanks.
A:
We'd suggest 30mm - 50mm thick, ideally with some reinforcing mesh.

Q:
Can the windows be made to open outwards on hinges?
A:
Not as delivered, but it would be relatively simple for someone with experience - you can see the manual and assembly video at the end of the description for a better idea of what might be involved.

Q:
Can this be designed the opposite way with the Tall side in the left hand side?
A:
No it can't as the the sections are preformed and only face one way (if you flipped them round the internal framing would be showing) - have a look at the link to the manual below the description for a better idea of what the elements look like.

Q:
Could you potentially put this indoors, we have massive bedrooms and a 12 foot stud, and want to use as a sleeping loft type idea?
A:
We have not come across this before, but with this design I'm sure you can.

Q:
Hello, could you please tell me if the wood could be stained instead of painting wood. Would this provide enough protection? we live in the Waikato, I am planing to build the house on piles to advoid dampness from the ground soaking into flooring.
A:
Yes it can, you'll need a protective stain designed specifically for outdoor use - such as the CD50X we have listed under 'Frequently Bought Together' above.

Looks nice eventually, but bundle is misleading and plans are terrible.

I bought the Palmako Tom playhouse at the end of October 2021 and have been putting it together over the Christmas break. The quality of the timber and build of the walls was okay but not great, and the fact it’s all untreated means we spent a long time treating the timber prior to the painting and assembly. I ordered the optional shingles pack, foolishly assuming it was a pack of shingles to cover the playhouse, missing the small note in the product description that says you need three packs, which is not a option, automatic or otherwise, when selecting the bundle, which is disappointing, bordering on the misleading. The supplied instructions are quite poor, being badly-laid out and not very clear, and both the bitumen roofing felt and the unhelpfully small pack of shingles had no English directions and had to be translated via the Google translate app from Polish. The end result will hopefully be pretty nice, but the mounting costs and frustration have made the build process less than pleasant.

Very cute

Very cute. Had to add capping to get it totally watertight and the instructions could have been better but all in all excellent product

Kids love their new playhouse!

We are generally satisfied with this playhouse. With a little bit of elbow grease we got this setup relatively easility. It is a project painting creating a pad to site it etc so be prepared. Great design, looks great and kids love it. I am a little dissapointed and hesitant because the timber is clearly not treated which is not ideal considering it is outside! This means your paint job on the outside is the first and last line of defence! Suggest your paint the outside panels before assembling. Also suggest you grab 3 packs of ashphalt shingles that trade tested sells as only a basic roll of ashphalt comes with the purchase and the proper ashphalt shingles looks like a million bucks!

Playhouse

Great kit, easy to build although allow plenty of time if you want to decorate well. Kids love it. Would gladly recommend.

Well build, relatively easy to assemble

Made in Estonia & it shows in the quality & tolerances. Very nice play area, well designed. I assembled on a 1.6m platform, made it more difficult. Kit was very complete, I added some extra support here & there.

Playhouse

It’s been a very successful project. A great kit, although the roofing material supplied is (in my view) not fit for windy Wellington conditions, so I’ve put on a Colorsteel roof instead. I’ve recommended trade tested to a few people who have asked me about playhouses, sheds and chicken coops. I also had excellent service from Leo at your call centre when the courier damaged the first roll of roofing felt.

Great playhouse, but a bit rough in some areas

It’s a great little playhouse that will be cherished for years to come. Certainly takes a bit of time to build and then seal. Took 3 adults a long weekend to make it weathertight. The wood is really soft and the floor probably won’t last long as it cracks underfoot. Would also help if the 1000 plus screws were separated some how, as trying to find the right one is nearly impossible.
