This is something that I should have bought years ago for splitting wood at home. An excellent product saves my aging body from using an axe. Built a stand a moveable trolley as not high enough to use sitting on its own legs. A highly recommend this to anyone looking for a home electric splitter. Thanks Trade Tested.

Handy tool to have.

This is a great product from a reputable manufacturer, I’ve bought other Hyundai products from Trade Tested and been very happy with them. This splitter handles big logs with ease and if you have a couple of reasonable size trees to split down it will pay for itself versus hiring a splitter within a week.

Overall we are really satisfied though if the wood is not completely dry it does not push far enough to fully split .

Safety features are a pain

This log splitter has some safety features which make it very frustrating to use. You must hold down both the lever at the end, and the button on the motor. I understand that this is to stop your hands getting anywhere near the jaws, but if the log starts to fall off, you have to take your hand off the electric button and it stops. Also, the jaws only go to about 6 inches away from each other (not right together) so sometimes tricky logs do not get split all the way through. If you take your hand off the lever at the end, the ram starts going back to the start position, which just makes the whole process take even longer. Don't get me wrong, it does a fine job of the actual splitting, but it just takes you longer, and can be quite frustrating.

certainly beats a hickory hand held log splitter,no tiredness involved. It split macrocarpa that has been felled 16 years ago with no effort. The felled logs were chainsaw cut into 300mm lengths, ideal for the log burner, before they went to the log splitter. It even accepted small knots in the wood.

Log splitter works very well

Certainly recommend this unit - works very well. Would really benefit from the availability (perhaps as an optional extra) of a set of legs that raises the unit to a good standing work height.

This product was surprisingly inexpensive compared to others I have looked at It is deceptively heavy so even though it has a set of wheels you need to be physically strong to be able to move it from place to place. Having said that, it splits the wood effectively and is ideal for the home user
