Product overview

Honda's newest generator, the EU22i, is 10% more powerful than its predecessor, whilst remaining just as light and as quiet as before.

The EU22i features a microcomputer-controlled sinewave inverter that guarantees commercial-quality electricity – making it ideal for use with frequency-sensitive electrical equipment such as laptops and home computers.

The EU22i features an eco-throttle adjusting the engine speed and only running at full capacity when required. This increases fuel economy and reduces noise.

It also features parallel connection compatibility. For additional power, you can link two Honda inverter generators in parallel operations with a simple connection cable.

Designed and built with user convenience and environmental impact in mind, the EU22i features an advanced 4-stroke engine for strong performance, fewer emissions and no need for fuel mixing. They also provide superior fuel efficiency and emit significantly less carbon and noise than most of their two-stroke counterparts, so you'll breathe easier with the EU22i.

The EU22i starts 'first time every time' with Honda's reliable one pull easy start system.

It's environmentally-friendly with low emissions, less noise and lower fuel consumption than its two-stroke counterparts, and can run up to 15* hours of continuous operation on a full fuel tank. Lightweight (21kg) and whisper-quiet (53dB**), the EU22i is the flagship generator of the portable power industry.

q: Would this be able to run a coffee cart?
a: It's hard to say, but unlikely if you have multiple appliances (fridge, coffee machine etc). You need to calculate the specific power needs (including start up load) of everything you plan to run using the generator (with leeway) for an idea of the generator size you'll need. Feel free to give us a call for more help.

q: Hi there Could this power a front loading Fisher and Paykel clothes washer (machine uses 110 - 130 Watt Hours on average during the washing cycle, manufacturer says it needs up to 650 Watts for brief periods during the cycle)? If not, what size generator would I need?
a: It's tricky to say without the exact specifics of your machine. Running load (such as the 650 you mention) is often doubled or more briefly on start up, so yes potentially this could run it, but you need to get the exact model number and specs (including start up power needs) of your machine to be definite.

q: I want to run a 2.2kW 230V electric motor at Full Load Current for long periods of time. Will this unit be large enough?
a: No definitely not, you will probably need something around 6000W as the start up load is often a lot higher than the running watts, depending on application. It's hard to be specific without knowing more, if you want to give our sales team a call they'll be happy to talk you through the options

q: Can i run 2 batteries chargers for an e bike! ?
a: Its hard to say without knowing the exact specs, but you should be able to get a vague idea of the draw by looking at your charger specs (amps x voltage), but generally we'd say yes it should be fine.

q: Will unit power large fridge?
a: Probably not, a fridge with a 700W running rating, will have a start up draw of up to 2900W, so beyond the capabilities of this generator.

q: Does this model have an electric start?thanks
a: No this isn't, generally you won't see electric start on generators of this size. Our smallest electric start generator is the Honda EU30ih or Newman 3200W.

q: Would this generator be able to re-charge 2* 165 amp hr marine batteries from a 50% charge state?
a: The 12V output is only 8.3A so it's probably inadequate, however you could use the AC output to power a suitable charger.

q: Will this run a house hold jug with a labelled draw of : 220-240v / 50-60Hz / 1850-2200W
a: This would be borderline, you would be better off going up a generator size.

Honda EU22I inverter generator

This was purchased to cope with a series of full day outages for scheduled infrastructure upgrade by Powerco. We needed to keep the freezer, internet, mobile phone repeater, electric fence unit and occasional water pump cycling. This unit is very quiet and as we weren't loading it to full output it was incredibly economical and had capacity to spare. I can see many other uses on the farm for it and is an easily portable unit at 20kg for 2.2kw. I'm glad we didn't go bigger. Compare other shop's price and you can see why this is such a great buy

Powerful wee Machine

This is a fantastic wee generator and saved us from doom and gloom during the great Piha power cut of 2018, when because of a freak storm we were without power for 7 days. It ran our water pump, gas water heater, Giant double door fridge freezer, TV, 6 LED lights and all our Phone chargers. We became the base for our neighbours to relax, shower, and be merry during a stressful time. This wee generator ran without fault and only used 20lts of fuel the whole time. Much less we are told than cheaper brands.
