q: Can I add advice re shingles..as former owner of a shingle roofing Co. Take concrete tiles off.. Fix T&G 15 mm roofing ply to sound battens..with ply tongue on top edge..starting at spouting 50mm overhang and working upwards..safe to work all over.. String line first run of shingles at bottom and work up with 50% overlap as per shingle design.. Hire a shingle stapler or nailer.. Fix shingles above half overlap.. similar tactics on hips and valleys with cut sections of shingles.. Valleys first before shingles..hip after.. cheers Ron

q: Would these tiles be suitable to clad a gypsy/hoop wagon?

a: On fabric canvas? No, they need a hard surface to be tacked to.

q: What sort of fastening is required to install these tiles. I.e. can they be used on other outdoor sheds apart from log cabins.??

a: These use roofing nails, so yes you could use them elsewhere.

q: I am looking at replacing an old concrete tile roof on my house, perhaps with these tiles you are selling?

a: These are bitumen shingles, not tiles, so very different to your current roof. These need to be installed on a flat surface, your current tiles will be on framing.

a: Yes generally they should be fine.

q: What size is each individual sheet in a pack?

a: These come in a 1m long strips of 3 tabs (you can see the connection in the photo), they are 33.3cm wide (1/2 of this will be overlap).

q: How suitable are these tiles for a metal roof given they are attached by roofing nails. It is a flat roof on a portacom?

a: These probably wouldn't be suitable, we would recommend you find some stick on ones.

I was looking for a product to replace cedar shingles which look good but don't last long in Blenheims weather due to the temperature extremes between summer and winter. The roof shingles look good and are easy to install. They are also inexpensive.

I purchased these Roofing Shingles from TradeTested and these are ideal for the job. I designed and built a dog house for our German Shepherd and the Shingles finished the job off perfectly. Here are some additional details that I couldn't get from the details available on the website: Each tile is (L)1000mm x (H)333mm x (W)3mm. There are 21 tiles in the packet, which was more than enough for the job - I have 6 left over. These are Bitumen tiles and are great!

On the first course of tiles, turn them upside down and with the tabs on the high side. This makes a much stronger edge and are more wind resistant.
