With comprehensive instructions, assembly is easier than you might expect, while the house is delivered untreated and unfinished, so you can choose the stain or colour that fits best with your location.

Construction Points:

A good foundation is the key to guaranteeing the longevity and quality of your cabin. Only a completely level, rectangular foundation and bearers will ensure problem-free installation of the cabin.

The floor must be a minimum of 50mm off the ground, preferably more. The underside of the floorboards and the joists should be painted thoroughly and care taken to ensure enough airflow under the house. We recommend using Malthoid DPC between joists and the ground.

Your chosen site must be levelled and compacted to minimise ‘settling’. We recommend using strip or spot foundations, concrete foundations or pavers or a cast concrete bed.

If unsure consult with, or have the foundation prepared by a specialist.

a: Yes it is, the roof is pitched.

a: No this isn't an option.

q: Do you have a plan view of your corner cabin ? meaning a top view, also does it have a floor ? Am I able to stain outside to different color?

a: Yes we do, have a look at the manual link in the description or in the images for a simple diagram. Yes it has a floor. Yes the idea is you paint or stain for your desired finish.

a: No this comes unfinished - so you can paint it the colour of your choice.

q: The photos of the Melanie 2.8 cabin show Windows and doors with glazing beads (colonial) and with ought. Q is , is this an option selection at purchase?

a: You get both options with the cabin. The glass is single pane, you just add the trim over it if that's the look you want.

I purchased this beautiful little studio and could not assemble it my self, but Trade Tested came to my rescue with the name of the company who can help. I absolutely love this little cabin and have had the water connection completed, just waiting for the power to be done now. Thank you very much Trade Tested, l can paint to my hearts content now.

Not quite finished construction ... got it to this point in two days. Instructions were a little too sparse but with a massive team effort we got there! I love how it sits in the corner of my garden and it really does add something very special and a great spare room!

This little studio was the hardest thing l have ever tackled, not being very good at doing jigsaws. But Trade tested came through and advised me that there is a company call Kitset Assembly that is based in Auckland, however has people all over NZ who can come and assemble the studio for you. Living in rural Southland that was the answer for me. Love my studio and have it plumbed and wired, all that is required is the bed and l would never have to leave. Gets all day sun and tons of light for me to paint. Thank you Trade Tested.

it's a beauty. it really needed a membrane to go under the roof tiles and a few extra bolts and info for constructing the roof but apart from that it really is a beauty thanks

Very happy with my new summerhouse office. As others have noted it required a lot of effort and some thought as the instructions were pretty generic but I managed to do the whole job on my own. Assembling the walls was great fun. A lot of people asked about it and all love it - I should have taken on the agency . . . and well done Trade Tested!
