Retractable Awning 3m x 2m Graphite with Valance

I bought this awning to replace one that I bought from Mitre 10 five years ago, which had failed due to the fabric breaking down. Not only is the new awning substantially more robust in the mechanism and fabric, it also has a shield over the roller to protect the fabric from the elements reducing sun and water damaged when stored. Straightforward assembly, and confident operation, even in windy conditions. Very happy so far.

I purchased this to replace an older unit that had failed. This is a cassette type so the top is protected from the weather when fully retracted. Materials look like good quality.

The awning is up and working. Very pleased with it although need less wind and more sun to take full advantage. I certainly needed a second pair of hands to erect as quite heavy. Only downside has been when windy vibration noise from top plastic cover hitting metal front of awning (when it is retracted). I have overcome this by extending the awning a couple of centimetres.

I bought 5 of the 3 by 2 meter awnings in March last year. I only found time to hang them up now. The first one is installed, I just wanted to make sure the brackets would pull the bricks out the wall, as in New Zealand the (hollow) brick walls are not that strong. So I bought a 5 m Aluminum U profile to make extended brackets. this works well. I also bought the famous plastic clips, so that the winding handle can be held in place without having to remove it all the time. This way one can quickly wind the Awning back in when the wind suddenly picks up. I am very happy with this high quality product! Well done Tradetested!
