Product overview

Encourage tūi and bellbird to visit by hanging a nectar feeder in a safe spot in the garden.

Topflite Nectar Nutra Feeders are designed specifically to attract tūi and bellbird and allow them to feed safely. A deep feeding cup and sturdy steel parts will accommodate the large, heavy tui and a strong cap prevents bees from drowning in the liquid.

The red colour of the Nectar Nutra Feeder mimics the natural shades of rata and pohutukawa, the favourite flowers of New Zealand’s native nectar feeders, and will bring them visiting regularly to your garden.

Q:
I have one of your nectar feeders, filled it with nectar and it only attracted bees , which then drowned as they tried to get out. How can I prevent this?
A:
If you're experiencing this issue then Topflite recommend that either the lid is taken off the flower part or if you prefer, you can pop in some small stones which means that the bees have something to land on and rest giving them time to escape out of the holes. The birds can still access the nectar.

Ok… but…

Metal construction is good, and it worked well for a while. When full of liquid however it is too heavy and is only held in place by the loose top cap. A bit of wind and the bottle would jiggle loose and flip over emptying all its contents. Eventually the bottle snapped right off at the neck leaving the threaded neck jammed in the base. The feeder holes remain open, so most of the time the base would fill up with bees, flies, and other insects attracted to the sweet nectar, disease factory!
