PVC 1.8m Privacy Fence System - Driveway Gates

These are fantastic and stylish too. Lightweight but still sturdy enough if installed correctly etc. Excellent height and great from keeping the nosy neighbour's from always peering in. So much more affordable then having a fence/gate company do it and quote $6000

Some instructions would have been good - even for a qualified builder, just to confirm that i was on the right track. The product itself was awesome. Once i was happy with what was going on it was easy to install, level and plumb. Good fixings for the gates off the posts. The posts were sturdy and well made. The lady who brought the gate was able to open and close them easily. I built a picket fence up to the gate and they complimented each other. The metal inserts in the post provides all the support you need. Bloody good product overall.

The fence is amazing - and on a fine day, the gates are amazing. However - we have had to put massive macrocarpa standards across both sides of the fence to stop them (probably swinging off their hinges). Luckily, it's only the gates to our kitchen orchard - but we are regretting not thinking of the wind factor when choosing this system. I do recommend, but think carefully how you will hold two massive gates in 120km wind.

Bought this around 1-2 months ago. It didn’t come with any instructions or manual. I reviewed your Q&A and it said that we can install the hinges on the other side of the post to swing out the gate, so we did! However the gate has many potential problems: 1: no instructions as mentioned above; 2: no pre-drilled holes on the posts. You have to drill the holes by your own. However, only at the very bottom of the post, there is steels inside the plastic post can hold screws provided by them. We are misled by the pictures on the product page and had to re drill some holes at the bottom and now our brand-new gate looks bad with so many holes on it 3: screws provided are too short and too weak to hold the gate. I recommend you buy strong dynobolts by your own to install the gate

Only purchase the product if you have 100 % flat ground and want gates to open inward. There are no instructions included in the pack and the instructions TradeTested send you are rubbish. If you have the flat ground then the product works well and looks good.

Smart looking fence

Outstanding product but as said before no real instructions so a bit of out of the box thinking required. Was the talking point of the street while I was building it. 5 star for product.

We used these gates as doors for under our deck, fitting them as sliders. What was going to be an expensive job for us turned out great.

Our new gates are excellent. They were easy to install and will hopefully give years of service. They are designed for perfectly flat and level driveways but can be tweaked a little to fit on those that are not quite level. For our situation we wanted privacy gate with trellis to match our fence. There was no option was available at the time so we have used the full privacy gates. Adapting them for a different fence was as easy as using an end post for the privacy fence with trellis and inserting the gate reinforcing extrusion into the post and concreting it in. Instructions were a little sparse, just a picture of the gates and general comment to attach the hinges to the posts first then attach the gates to the hinges and add the latch. No detail on things like how much gap to allow between post and gates at the hinges and the latch etc.. But is was easy enough to guess and fortunately I got it correct. It would be a disaster if you had your gate posts too close together. All-in-all we are perfectly happy with both gates and fence. Looks great, opens and closes easily. Would definitely use again.
