q: It is not clear to me how the rope actually works. Can you assist?
a: The rope operates the secateur head beneath the saw. Pull the rope down and it closes the jaws of the secateur for pruning lighter branches.

excellent extending pruner. Good leverage for cutting reasonable size stems. My only criticism would be of the saw blade which is a little coarse when dealing with thinner bendy branches. However great value item.

Bahco is a quality brand in Europe, so have no trouble with the design and quality of this. Get high up in my avo trees. Assemble instructions a bit vague. Great value

Twist grip lock on extension is effective and secure. Cord pull to operate the pruning head provides surprisingly good pressure to the cutting blade and cuts through good sized branches with ease.

Pole saw/ pruner

2018-12-11 19:27:55

A good tool with two faults. I had to put a rivet through the head to prevent it pulling off the handle.( the clamp is not sufficent.)Secondly the gap between the top pully, and its frame is too wide, allowing the pull rope to jamb. ( Maybe a larger dia rope would prevent this).

Baz Auckland

Flawed product

2018-11-19 20:22:48

The pruner head fits to the pole using a friction fit, however no matter how much you tighten, the head comes loose eventually. The design flaw is that there are no bolts which directly pass through both the pole and pruner head to ensure a good connection. Would not recommend this at all.

Bodger Wellington

Good tool save for one defect

2018-01-09 06:22:33

The pruner works nicely but the stud on which the saw blade is mounted fell out the first time I used it. This was not so much of a problem for me because I have a workshop full of spare nuts and bolts and was able to find a bolt that was the right size. But someone without such resources would have been quite disappointed.

Oops !

2017-08-28 21:11:27

The two fixing screws a the top would be well served to have a couple of spring washers included, in my humble opinion . I had to retighten down very hard to prevent the top coming off when using it and becoming a missile when dislodged. Other than that it, does the job and, at the price a good buy.

Howdy Auckland

Careful putting it together

2016-11-15 00:37:10

This product needs to come with better assembly instructions. There is a danger that if you don't torque the screws as much as possible that the head can fly off when sawing and land on your nut. Really tighten as much as possible and test on something on the ground before putting yourself at risk. And or wear a helmet!
