The Pit Barrel Cooker has been taking the US Charcoal BBQ community by storm for the last 10 years, now it’s our turn! The unique vertical meat-hanging method puts the food in the centre of the heat which allows for even set-it-and-forget-it cooking.

The Pit Barrel has top-quality construction and is based on a durable steel drum with high quality Porcelain enamel coating. It includes all the accessories needed to cook a immense variety (and quantity), of high quality food. It works like a convection cooker by drawing air in at the bottom, fuelling a fire in an elevated charcoal basket, and because the meat hangs vertically in the barrel, it circulates the hot air evenly around the food before the smoke exits via small air vents at the top. It’s deliberately not insulated, instead the sides will cool with exterior airflow creating condensed ‘smoke fog,’ which is a mix of evaporated meat juices and smoke from the coals. This keeps moisture in the smoker to help keep your food moist and negates the need to add a water bowl,

Does this Pitt Barrel cooker come with a tarp/cover of any sort?
A:
This Pitt Barrel cooker is made from a porcelain coated steel drum and lid for additional protection from heat and weather and doesn't really require it like other barbeques. It does not come with a cover

The thought of waiting 4/5 hours for stuff to cook never spun my dial but seriously this thing is the bomb, never even smoked a fish before and yet this thing cooked the meat like I'd been doing it years. Buy the temp probes for the meat and amateurs like me can light up and walk away it's that easy.

Great value and easy to use cooker/smoker. Simple to use, just need to experiment with different fuel to see what works best for you. Food always tastes great. If you are thinking of getting a smoker, just buy the Pit Barrel and you wont be disappointed.

Best Tasting Smoked Chicken ever

To try the PB out I cooked a chicken using the poultry hangar accesory. My wife hates the smell of smoke when the BBQ is running, but the PB with its sealed cooking system emits very little smoke. Just light it put the Chicken in and put the lid on. Then wait until its cooked. So easy, no fiddling with vents to get the temp correct. Its truly set and forget. I use a Meater to show the temp and highly recomend using it with the PB. No need to keep checking anything. I note PB also recomend the Meater. Wife told me it was the best chicken she has ever tasted. So I can keep my smoky BBQ
